Yes - this happened about 35 miles from where I live. It had been all over the news and papers.

SAIF/PAIF Welcome
Lots of love and luck to my PAIF/3T/IF Veteran ladies, especially my dear friend Zookie. Congrats to Papps, Teach84 and Starbuck on their little ones.
This happens a lot and it drives me crazy! It's usually not overnight, it's during the day when one thinks the other took the baby to daycare, or they just forget, and leave the kid in the car all day to die.
I cannot believe how little parents like this are prosecuted. They usually don't get in that much trouble because it was an accident. Tell that to the baby who cooked alive. I don't understand how you could forget your child and I don't have any sympathy for these parents.

My questions are how do they not even have a conversation about putting the child to bed or anything? Would they not have checked on the baby in that time frame? Maybe I am just being crazy and overprotective and won't actually check on my child every few hours like I say I will at that age, but this just blows my mind!
I had a nightmare last night that I had a baby and accidentally left it in the car when I went into a store. I woke up in a panic and haven't stopped thinking about it. It is truly terrifying.
I don't know what to think. My ex and I lost my son at the store onece because we each thought the other had him. I remember the fear that went over me, the numb ness in my feet and the difficulty to catch my breath! He was lost for 3 hours. Do you have nay idea what could happen to a child in 3 hours? Don't say it can't happen to you because one simple mistake can happen. My heart goes out to them if it was a mistake I can see how it would happen.
Do the parents not speak or what. I would think one of them would have said 'you get the baby' or 'I'll get the baby, can you grab that' or something. It makes me mad. I sure hope they don't get their other kid back.
I was trying to figure out how the baby died in the moderate weather we've been having in Baltimore, but then realized the story (although reported in Baltimore) occurred in California. So tragic.
::lurking and butting in:: Wow... just wow. Were they not going to feed the poor baby until after 2pm??? They should have went to feed her well before then and realized she was not in her crib. There are no excuses for this. It is poor parenting and neglect no matter how you look at it. And honestly, I'm not convinced it was an accident.

I get this Mari. my parents lost me @ DisneyWorld for about 4hrs when I was 3yrs old. They both thought the other had me.
However, this couple got home at 12am and it took till 2pm the next day to call the cops. I have never heard of a 7month old sleeping that long.

I think they neglect their kids. Although I do not think that killing the baby was intended. My sister use to leave her kids in their crib until 2. My sis is a horrible mom, but I know she would never kill her children. As hard as it is for me to admit that my own fertile sibling is that bad of a mother, I still have to say that she wouldn't kill them.

Yeah, its definitely fishy..
It's more than fishy! He seriously drove to the gym with a dead baby in the back seat and never noticed. This blows my mind!
I bet it comes out that they were drunk the night before.

I think this too. They didn't even check on the baby from 12am to 2pm, really?? 14 hours? That is some serious neglect to say the very least. How horrible
I used to have nightmares quite often that I had a baby and forgot it in the car while I was at work. Scared the crap out of me.
These stories always make me feel sick. It's not that I think they meant for the baby to die, but how do you go over 12-hrs without checking on your child?
A couple of years ago there was a teenage mom here who left her baby in the car while she went to work! She said she thought the baby would be safer there than home alone. Ofcourse since it was the middle of summer you can all imagine what happened. I wouldn't even leave my DOG in the car, how can people not think something will happen if they leave their BABY in the car for 6-hrs?!?

Very sad..
I'm sorry babe..
O it's okay. I just don't want to start crying at my desk. The instructer I share this office with might be a little weirded out by that.
Yeah, and the gym thing... WTF?!
