So I am in charge in finding an affordable venue to have our baby shower at and I live in Dover NH. I want to know if any of you have any ideas, within a 20 mile radius of Dover. By affordable I mean something under 300 for a couple hours of rental and we plan on supplying our own food and non alcoholic beverages for those under 21. Thanks girls!
Re: Baby Shower Venue in the Seacoast
After 7 years trying to concieve, 3 failed IUIs and 2 failed IVFs, my third IVF was a success!
My Christmas baby turned into a turkey bird! Dillon Richard was born at 34 weeks, 5 days on November 28, 2009 after 10 weeks on bedrest for preeclampsia.

Wish I knew a specific place, but also a larger church will allow you to rent their hall as well. It is normally not too pricey and you do not have to be a member. They generally have some area with a kitchen and meeting space. You coudl probably find a really cool older church up there too. As an idea. Not sure on all the rules but I have been to one furthur south and the host had wine at the shower and the church was fine with that. GL!!
For parks - Four Tree Island in Portsmouth (near Prescott Park). All they ask for is a donation of your choice. They have a nice covered area. The only problem is you have to stake out the space the day of, you can't reserve the space. But it's a really nice location. Or there's Hilton Park on Dover Point.
I would also recommend the Elks, Moose, etc. If you know a member you can get a discount. My neighbor is a member of the Elks and I'm thinking about asking him if he can help me out for my shower.
Or a local church? I hosted a baby shower at one in Rochester once. The grandmother was a member so we were able to use the downstairs for the party for no $$.
You might be able to do a local restaurant for a little more money and have an appetizer thing. Doesn't Fogarty's in S. Berewick have an upstairs?
