I have 3 brothers, so I do not know what it would be like to have a sister. I am close to my brothers, but we don't have that bond. I always wanted a sister growing up, someone to tell all my secrets to, to be best friends with. I am so happy I have my two girls. I know they are going to fight, but I hope that they become best friends for life. Are you best friends with your sister (or brother)?

oh my gosh, those pictures are SOOO precious! the top one especially... they need to be framed!

i have 2 sisters. one is 2 years younger than me and one is almost 5 years younger than me. growing up, i was closest to the one 2 years younger. i didn't get along at all with my youngest sister until i was in college. now, my sister who's closest in age and i have nothing in common sadly. but, all 3 of us get along well whenever we're together.

ETA: i also have a brother who is the youngest sister's twin. he is 19. he doesn't really communicate well lol.

I have a sister but we have never been/are not best friends. We get along quite well and enjoy doing stuff together, especially now that we don't both live at home. But we are NO where near being best friends but it would have been nice.

We're somewhat close now but never were growing up. We're 5 years apart though - it's a little bit of an awkward age difference.

Yes, we are now. We're about 15 months apart. We were close when we were really young and then we fought a lot, now we're the best of friends.

Thank you, my best friend has a sister a couple of years younger and they are really close. I have known my best friend since we were 5 yr old, so I refer to her as my sister at times. She has actually taken on my mom as hers, since her mom sadly passed away 3 years ago. So her daughter thinks of my mom as her grandma. I love having my girls so close in age, a built in best friend (hopefully).

I have 1 sister 2.5 years younger and 1 who is 5 years younger...I always got along better with the youngest...but over the years that has switched a bit...but all of us are now really good friends and enjoy the time we get to hang out together (not often enough!) I am hoping my girls are good friends too...maybe they'll skip over the hs "I hate you" part tat me and my sisters went through tho...

My sister and I are 16 mos apart and have always been best friends. We are both pregnant again now and it has been such a special experience. It's unusual for us not to talk everyday if not 2 or 3 times a day. My kids will be 14 mos apart and I can only hope that a boy and a girl will be just as close.

My sister and I are two completely different people. We are 4.5 years apart and have only our parents in common. She is a Stepford wife and I am (I think??) a normal working mom. I have two half sisters but they are 17 and 21 years younger than me so we also don't have that much in common.

I wish I was closer with me older sister but we just don't jive.

We were close growing up, but are very, VERY differnt people now. We love each other unconditionally even though we don't agree about a lot of things. But we are not best friends, unfortunately.

I think we both feel awkward about it and wish we were closer now since we were so close growing up.

No. We were never close growing up and still aren't. She does watch my kids once a week (she is a wonderful aunt) but overall we are not that close and are 2 very different people. Since I've had kids we try to get along just for the fact that she loves my kids more than anything and DS adores her.

We bickered a ton growing up (we're almost 3 years apart), but we're close now. My brother is 18 month younger than I am (middle child), and we've always been close. I want my kids close in age, just not as close as my sibs and I are:)

My sister and I are almost 8 years apart, but yes, I consider her one of my best friends! We tell each other everything and try to keep in touch (she lives in Texas). The only thing is I feel she is moving too fast in life (she's 20 and got married at 19, thinking about having kids soon), the only reason I say that is because she went right from living with our parents, to living with her (now) husband. BUT it's her life and all I can do is encourage and support her! I miss her lots. Sad

As kids it was really fun having a buddy so close in age. But we are really different people and definitely NOT best friends.

I think many other people are close to their sisters, though, so there's hope!

One of my sister's and I are really close... we are 2 years and 4 months apart. Our other sister is 10 years younger than me. She is a senior in high school and I teach high school... I imagine that as time goes on we will become closer.

This. My sister is 2 years older than me and we have very different parenting styles and she can judge a lot (I judge right on back but say nothing). She also seems to be jealous of a lot of things and that has gotten in the way of our relationship since she shuts me out. I think if we still lived in the same state we would possible be closer though.

So far my 2 oldest girls (almost 8 and almost 6) are very close and I love it. I hope they stay close and the little one just fits right in with them.
