3rd Trimester

How long can you sleep in one stretch?

Since probably 22 weeks I have not been able to sleep more than 2 hours at a time without waking due to positional discomfort or having to pee. I'm always able to fall right back to sleep but I just can't sleep for more than a few hours at a time.

  • same here I sleep for 2-3 hours and then I'm up again to pee and re-adjust myself but I can't fall back asleep for nearly an hour after each time I wake up so in the morning I am SUPER tired.

  • Probably at the most 2 hours.  So annoying!

  • I would say I wake up to pee every 3-4h during the night but multiple times in between that to turn around and find a "semi-comfortable" position to be in.

  • 2 hours...2.5 at the most! :(

  • At the most 1 hr.  This is rare though, usually it is 15-30 min.
  • Most of the time about 3-4 hours at a time.  I think I've hit the third tri exhaustion and sometimes can make it 6 hours.  Those nights make me happy.

This! I'm sure at times its a bit longer. It seems that every time I wake up and look at the clock its been about an 1 hour or less. Mostly due to terrible hip pain. ):

Plus... Sometimes I think I convince myself I have to pee while I'm lying awake even if it wasn't that long since the last trip.

  • 2-3 hours at a time
  • About 3-4 hours is the longest I can go without waking up to pee or to switch positions (hips have started to hurt if I sleep too long on one side).

  • I feel lucky..I haven't had any sleeping issues this entire pregnancy. I sleep about 8-9 hours a night without any problems. Now that I have said this, I will probably be up 8 times a night for the next 4 weeks...

  • At this point 60 min normally.  If I go 90 I wake up & run to the restroom b/c I am about to pee my pants.  It's gotten WAY worse since the baby started to drop.

  • around 2-3 hours.  bathroom, turn over, bathroom, push dog off of me, repeat
  • 1.5-2 hours probably before I have to roll over
  • Let me start by saying I feel incredibly sorry for everyone who cant sleep, I am two weeks out and I sleep from 10 pm till about 8 am. Sometimes I get up to pee once a night, but I am not awake for more then 2 mins max.  DH is a little worried that I have not been conditioned at all for when LO gets here. I have always just been a good sleeper. No pain, no heartburn, I must have a big bladder, I mean I wish I didnt sleep so much cause I will be in trouble when LO gets here.

  • The past couple days: about 3 hours between when I fall asleep and when I have to get up to pee or get a drink (I get up more to get water to drink than I do to pee); I did go through a phase for about 3 weeks (right about the time I got put on bed rest) where I was sleeping all night and not waking up at all. It was really weird.

  • 1-1.5 hrs. I've always had a hard time sleeping and now that I'm pregnant I pee a lot and have acid reflux which wakes me up a bunch. Its so fun.
  • Only about 2 hours. . .then I am up to pee and adjust how I am laying to help relieve my hips that ache.  Guess this is good practice for when baby girl arrives!

  • i can sleep about 4 at a time. Its pretty normal though - natures way of getting us used to waking frequently for when baby comes, ya know? :-/
  • SO glad I'm not alone in this! I'm very jealous of all of you who can got all night without getting up to pee. I'm too afraid of wetting the bed to not pee when I wake up! Even if I didn't really have to go badly, I know I will soon. :)
