How many hours is your baby sleeping at night? How many naps during the day and for how long? Thanks!

Re: girls with 2 month olds

  • Not enough, imo.  DD will nap for about 40 minutes in the morning about 2 hours after she gets up.  After that its a free for all of mini cat naps until about 330 in the afternoon, where she'll sleep for another 40 minutes, sometimes she naps again around 5:45 for about a half hour and then to bed at 8pm. Oh, I should say she gets up between 6:30 and 7am.

At night, we're usually up 2 times for about a half hour each time.

I am very jealous of the moms whos lo's sleep for 2-3 hours straight.

  • My baby is an awesome sleeper - 8-10 hours straight most nights, and 3-4 30 min-2hr naps during the day. She naps in the swing and sleeps in her crib at night. We got lucky with her sleep habits!
  •  He goes down for bed around 9-930ish. He will wake around 2am for a night feeding and again at 6am-7am for another feeding. Then he will sleep till around 9am. He usually sleeps until 5am, but this is our schedule since we moved to the crib a few days ago. At this point he is up and we play. At around 11-1130 I have him go down for another nap. By this time his is exhausted and ready. He will nap from 1-2 hours. We are up again until around 5ish. He takes a nap and I prepare dinner. He will then wake up when he hears DH is home, around 6ish. From then he stays awake or may take a cat nap around 730 before his bedtime routine starts. Bedtime routine starts at 8:30 and includes, bath, lotion massage, changing into pj's and a book.
  • Night - 6 hours, up for about an hour to eat, 5 hours

Naps - 4-5 naps that are 45 minutes to 1 hour

  • He sleeps eight hours at night and has one or two long naps a day (1 hour - 2 hours) and catnaps for the rest of the day.
  • She'll go anywhere from 4-7 hrs. at night, then another 3-4.  She's up by 9 or 10 every day.  Naps about 2 times for 30 min - 2 hrs.  Just depends. Bed around 10.

  • He sleeps for probably 5 hours straight at night, wakes up to eat, and then after that wakes up every two hours.  He goes down at around 10 or 11 and is up for the day anywhere between 7 AM and 10 AM.

He naps just a few times a day, unless we are in the car (like many babies he just loves to sleep in the car).  The naps are usually 30 minutes to an hour long.

  • DS is 2 1/2 months old now, but his sleeping pattern is pretty much the same.  He goes down anywhere between 8-10pm, always after a bottle, and he will sleep from 3.5-4.5 hours and then be up again to eat.  After that bottle again he goes down for anywhere from 3.5-4.5 hours and is up again to eat - that bottle usually falls anywhere between 2 and 4 am.  So after that bottle, since he will wake 4 hours later approx, then when he wakes he is up for the day.  In a nutshell he has 2 bottles during the night.  The longest chunk of time he has ever slept for was like 4.5 hours after finishing a bottle.  I think he will soon be sleeping longer though because his 2 night feedings are never the full 5.5oz, rather only 3-4.5 at best.

DD goes to bed around 9:00 at night and doesn't wake until around 4:30-5:30.  She takes two short naps before noon then is usually awake for a 3-4 hour stretch in the afternoon.  She takes an hour nap in the evening.
