We have been TTC for 5 months after getting off the pill (was taking it for over 10 years) did all the pre-TTC things and got a clean bill of health from the gyn to have fun trying. After the first month of being off the pill, AF was a few days late but since then has been right on track every month. I have also been tracking my ovulation. This month AF didn't come, I have no PMS or cramping, so after 3 days late I took a home pregnancy test and it came up not pregnant. It's now 5 days later and still nothing. I was thinking about taking the test again tomorrow morning. Is this normal?
Re: I'm late, pregnancy test is negative
What do you mean when you say you were tracking ovulation? Have you been actually charting or using an online calendar?
If you were usuing a calendar where you simply count days, those are not accurate at all, and probably, you've just ovulated a little later than expected.
If you're interested in learning about charting, you can click the ticker in my siggy to get to fertilityfriend.com.
I would test once a week until your period comes or you get a +hpt. If you hit CD60 with no period, call your doctor.
Good luck!
This.
Try charting. It is wonderful and you can sign up for Fertility Friend (it's free) through any of our charts.
**TTC since 10/2009** **BFP 4/15/12- Dx Molar Pregnancy- Surgery 5/15/12 & 5/22/12** **BFP 1/23/14- 1st Beta (1/24/14) 171 2nd Beta (1/28/14) 860**
Is this what you are using?

I'm happy that your friends were able to get pregnant quickly, but this is not a good way to track ovulation.
Readers' Digest version is this: Every cycle is different. If your last cycle was 30 days and you ovulated on CD 17 that does not mean you will always have a 30 day cycle and ovulate on CD17.
Fertility friend will help you learn your body's fertility patterns and will actually confirm ovulation for you.
Good luck!
They actually have a chart, I don't know how to get there online, I have it saved onto my computer and also signed up for countdowntopregnancy.com but I will try the fertility friend first. Thanks!
do you have this saved in notepad and ready to go on a moments notice? hehe
Sarah - As always so smart and helpful! Great information here!
When people on here are talking about charting, they are talking about taking your basal body temperature (basicially, your temp when you first wake up in the morning), plotting it in a chart, then looking at the pattern to confirm when ovulation occurs.
