I didn't go into labor. We chose to deliver due to severe IUGR of Jack and reverse flow to Jack.
As of now, Katie has no problems, health wise or developmentally. In fact, she's functioning almost like she were full term despite being 3 months early. Our docs are very impressed.
Jack on the other hand is a whole other ball game.
I developed hypertension and went into premature labor.
He has 4 VSD's-holes in his heart. He also has kidney reflux. 1 month later, he had double inguinal hernia surgery-common in preemie boys. Oh and everything else that comes with being a preemie...delayed development, etc.
Spent no time in NICU. I have no idea how but we feel very lucky and blessed. I was given 2 steroid shots before he was born to help his lung development.
He weighed 5lbs 1oz at birth and 4lbs6oz when he went home 3 days later.
No known cause. I just went into preterm labor on my own.
He was under the billiruben lights for 24 hours for juandice. He was also slightly delayed in some physical milestones. He rolled over late, never crawled, and walked late.
He will be 3 next week and is happy and healthy and has caught up on all milestones. You would never know now that he was a preemie.
Olivia was born at 3 pds 2.4 oz Madison was 4 pds 5.6 oz
I was having really bad contractions, one of the girls foot was coming out of the membrane, never thought the day after a perfectly normally ultrasound I wouldve had them.
Our girls have some breathing issues so they are on 1/8 liter of oxygen 24/7 and they are also on oxygen saturation monitors. They also have reflux.
How far along were you when you had your LO? 32w3d
How long was he/she in the NICU for? 30 days
What was LO's birth weight? 4lbs, 1/2oz
What caused you to labor early? I had sudden, severe, and atypically presented preeclampsia with multi-organ failure which resulted in an emergency c-section.
And health problems, does LO have any? None - he's a perfectly healthy and amazingly smart 4yr old (I can say that because I'm his mom - lol) and you'd never know he had a rough start to life unless you looked at his medical records.
I went to my 29 week appt and was sent to Triage because of my BP. 6 days of hospital bedrest I had her due to pre-e (my bp was 170/120)
And health problems, does LO have any?
She still has reflux but is on simply thick (put in her bottles). Her reflux however caused her 2 weeks longer in the hospital because she was scared to eat. Her eyes weren't matured when we left but 3 weeks later we went to Childrens to re-check them and they were matured. She was on oxygen since birth but got off of that 2 weeks ago. yay
Re: If y'all don't mind me asking...
I was 27w 1 day.
