1. m/s has not shown for 5 days!!! I have been having back pain instead and headaches. My appointment in on Thursday.
2. I will stop working the end of April or beginning of May and go back the first day of school at the end of August. We are trying to figure out a way for me to stay home though.
3. I love the leaves changing and the foods (apple pie, soup and chilli). I hate the colder weather though which is bad since I live in NH lol. We do have wonderful leaves though so I can't complain too much.
q2) I hope to take at least 2 months. I know it is unpaid leave, but I hope to have some PTO, maybe a few weeks if I'm lucky and hope that I can use ST Dis. for the rest.
q3) I love the fall colors and the weather changing and the Halloween and Thanksgiving holidays.
Q1: Told my parents yesterday about the pregnancy. I was so nervous that when I tried to show them the ultrasound picture from a couple of weeks ago, I was shaking so badly that my dad had to hold it. But they were thrilled, and I am so glad that it's over. DH thinks I'm silly to have been so scared, and I don't know why I was.
Q2: I'm in grad school and teaching, so I'll have about 4 months of the summer off, unpaid. Then I may come back to grad school full time but may drop to part time to just work on dissertation and stay home with the baby for a year.
Q3: If I lived somewhere where fall existed (which I used to), then it would be the colors of the leaves, the smells outside, and the fall food (apple pie, pumpkin bread, stew, etc.). But I live in the South, so it's only "less hot" right now, but nicer at night.
I just want to introduce myself quick: I'm Allison, 26 years old, married about 1 yr & 4 months. I'm new to the May 2009 mommy board. I posted a few times on the TTC boards prior to becoming pregnant just incase anyone recognizes the name. I am absolutely thrilled to be expecting, as is my husband. We haven't told everyone in our families yet, but we couldn't help but spill the beans to a few!
Q1: I had bloodwork done 5 days after I missed my period and was asked to come back last week to make sure the hormone levels were increasing (since the first draw was so early). Thank God, they were movin on up just fine.
Q2: I work and I am also a student, so obviously I will be giving up one of those 2 for a significant amount of time. It will probably be work since my job is a pretty high-stress one. The plan is to devote about 6 months of my time and energy to becoming a new mommy (providing everything with my husband's business is right on target). Otherwise the break will probably be more like 3 months, but he's pretty adament that he wants me to be able to devote at least 6 months to our newborn and I'm not complainin!
Q3: There are waaaay too many things I just LOVE about Fall. If I had to name just a few they would be: FOOTBALL SEASON (I like it, ok?), Fresh leafy-smelling air and open windows with that delicious breeze blowing through, Butternut squash ANYTHING (soup, ravioli, roasted, mashed), The prospect of the Holidays coming upon us, Hiking and listening to the crunchy new fallen leaves under our feet, I think I could go on forever......
Nice to meet you all I guess August was a good month!

1. We had our third ultrasound on Friday. All looks good. The little one is measuring one day ahead with a hb of 151. One more US next Friday then I move on to a regular OB instead of my RE.
2. I am hoping to take 8 weeks. Half will be covered by my vacation time, half will be on state disability.
3. I love the foods. Soups, stews, punkin stuff, apples. Mmmmmmm.
No news, just suffering with some killer heartburn! I plan to take 6-8 weeks off. I will get short term dissability that i belive covers 60% of my salary. Its not much, but better than nothing. My favorite thing about fall is seeing the kids trick or treating, the leaves changing, and that it means Christmas is around the corner. I hate the cold weather, though.
Q1- Just had first u/s last week and everything looked good ) FINALLY getting some energy back (exhaustion does not even begin to explain how tired I was!).
Q2- I will be teaching until DC #2 arrives and then take off the rest of the year and start school back up in August. Although I have some sick days I can use, most were used up with DC #1 last year so most of this leave will be unpaid (but I do have extra disability insurance that covers about 6 wks of pay).
Q3- LOVE the fall! Sweatshirt weather, football, pumpkins, halloween...
Q1: I have not been to an OB/GYN yet (I have been to a general doctor to confirm that I am PG) - DH and I live on an island and insurance doesn't permit us to give birth hear... so I have the unique pleasure of hastling with taking entire days off from work to take a 2 hour ferry ride (each way) to the "Mainland" - When ladies go into labor here they have to make arrangements to be flown off-island (think plane that seats 3-5) - ugh.... DH and I spacificly planned not to have a baby in the winter bec/ of weather.
Q2: I am hoping to take 12 weeks off and then go back to work part time for a couple months.
Q3: being able to wear warm puffy jackets...so I can hide my impending bloat/bump.
Q1: Any news or updates on your pregnancy? - we had our first dr. appointment last week. We were able to see and hear the heartbeat. We also saw our little pumpkin. It was really awsome.
Q2:(Pregnancy Related):How much maternity leave do you plan to take. Will it be paid or unpaid? - I get up to 26 weeks paid. I am planning to take 12.
Q3:(Non-Pregnancy Related):What is your favorite thing about Fall? - The colors of the leaves, pumpkin patches and halloween.
Q1: I had some bad cramping early last week, so I had my hcg levels taken on Wed and Fri. Wed was around 21,000, Friday was around 32,000. Dr said it was good. First official appointment is 10/13. Hoping for a look inside, but that probably won't happen according to a friend who went to the same practice.
Q2: I'll take at least 6 weeks @ 60% of my pay (short term disability). If I'm feeling fine earlier, I'd like to work something out with my boss that lets me work a modified schedule for more $$. I also might take Fridays off for a while, using FMLA time. We'll see though. I need to save a week of vacation for baby's first trip to the beach in August.
1. Nothing new, other than finally decided on an OB (my GYN confimed the pregancy, walked me through the first couple weeks and did first 2 ultrasounds), who I had my first appt w/ last week. Really happy with my choice.
2. Haven't totally decided yet. Will take at least as much time off as short-term disabilty will pay, 12 weeks? Haven't decided what we'll do after that. Return part-time? SAHM? Something we've decided to "see as it goes".
3. Sweater weather, fall leaves (though not raking them!), brisk weather, apples and pumpkins (including desserts, cider, etc.), our anniversary (next week!), football

Q1: Any news or updates on your pregnancy? Nope just waiting to go to the Dct. on 10/21
Q2:(Pregnancy Related):How much maternity leave do you plan to take. Will it be paid or unpaid? I was pouting about this earlier we get short term Dis but I will probably only take 6-8 weeks because we can not afford to be without my pay for to long. I also found out today that I even loose my Bonus! Even though I still have to do all of the work before I leave - Grrrrr....
Q3:(Non-Pregnancy Related):What is your favorite thing about Fall? I love everything about the fall. Expecially in the South Crisp mornings 75 - 80 degree afternoon followed by Chilly evenings! I love it! I also love sweaters - expecially with all the bloat!!!
1. Well, I had some scary spotting last night - a lot of bright red blood, but no cramps. I'm staying optimistic since I had a lot of similar bleeding when I was pregnant with my daughter, and everything turned out fine. I have appointments with my family doc and my OB (I'm considered a "high risk" pregnancy) as well an ultrasound scheduled for this Friday. It's going to be a busy day!
2. We recently moved to a new town and I became a SAHM, so I won't be taking leave this time around. Otherwise I would have been taking one year at 50% pay.
3. I love fall! I love the colours, the weather, the clothes, and of course, Halloween!
Went to the doctor this morning for my follow up u/s, went much better than last week and the doctor was nice and cooperative this time. My new due date is May 19! Nothing else new here.
I plan to take a few months. I might wait until January to go back, just in time for Tax Season 2009, but we'll see if I go back sooner than that.
My favorite thing about fall are the scents, and warm clothing. Sweatshirt and jeans are my favorite!
We saw the heartbeat blinking fast and strong last Tuesday! Now we don't go back to the Dr. until 11/4 for our NT scan sonogram and I may go crazy waiting for more proof of life! I still have not had any real morning sickness (knock on wood), but I am sooo ready to get past this exhaustion. I am a total slug and it is really hard to get anything done at work these days.
Q2:(Pregnancy Related):How much maternity leave do you plan to take. Will it be paid or unpaid?
I have my own family law practice, so I am able to take as much leave as I need. Bad news, I work for myself and do not have private STD insurance, so it is all unpaid! I think I will take most of the summer off, but realistically, I know I will have to handle a few things for exisiting clients during that time. My mom teaches school and will be off all summer, so she will be available to watch the baby if I have to go to a hearing or something during that time. My biggest struggle will be wrapping up all of my cases before the baby comes so that they are either finished or in a position to wait until I get back.
Q3:(Non-Pregnancy Related):What is your favorite thing about Fall?
High school football! Yes, I have been out of high school for 10 years and no, I do not have any kids that play, but there is still nothing better than watching those young kids play their hearts out. I drag DH to several of my high school's games each year. Can you tell I'm from Texas?
Hi! My guestimated due date was 5/15. But, my doctor confirmed my date is 5/12.
Q1: Any news or updates on your pregnancy? Heard the heartbeat at 8 wks, measured right on track, and progesterone levels are good!
Q2:(Pregnancy Related):How much maternity leave do you plan to take. Will it be paid or unpaid? I am waiting to look into this until my 2nd tri. My plan is to take as much time as possible, even if I have to take some unpaid time.
Q3:(Non-Pregnancy Related):What is your favorite thing about Fall? Wearing a comfy sweater, having hot coco, and the smell of the leaves!
Please add me! I'm due May 23rd, 26 in Massachusetts.
I have no reports on the pregnancy, no m/s yet and my first doctors appointment isn't until 10/20. I'm getting antsy!
My favorite parts about fall are football and sweaters... Oh and I can bake pies for the next two months and use the excuse "I'm trying them out for Thanksgiving"!

Q2:(Pregnancy Related):How much maternity leave do you plan to take. Will it be paid or unpaid? I am taking 12 weeks, some paid and then short term disability will kick in. It's not much but it's something.
Q3:(Non-Pregnancy Related):What is your favorite thing about Fall? Crunchy leaves under my horses hooves.
