For the first several weeks I lived in lounge/yoga pants, a cami/tank, and some layer on top. Lately, though, I've been wanting to get out more, but I have *nothing* to wear. I'm doing decently with the weight loss, I think, but even my "fat clothes" still don't fit.
Today I swallowed my pride and tried on some pants a size bigger than my biggest fat clothes, fully expecting them to fit - but they were still too tight!!
Although I realize I'll to have to buy some bigger things, I refuse to build a wardrobe of whatever crazy size I must need right now. (And the fact that it's time for summer clothes now doesn't help.)
What did you wear? How did you get by? And, at what point did you just suck it up and buy clothes in your current size, whatever that was/is?
Re: What did you wear post-baby, before you fit into your pre-preg clothes?
I bought jeans in a size up after a couple weeks, and they were too big, but my pre-pregnancy jeans are still too small.
Some of my looser pre-pregnancy tops fit me right after giving birth. And in others, I have had to go up a size. I still haven't lost this twin "pooch."
After 2 rounds of IVF & 2 rounds of FET, we were blessed with identical twin girls!
I wore sweats, even if I was going out
We had a Christmas party to go to 2 weeks pp and I wore my bella band with non maternity pants. I hated that thing when I was pg, and I hated it afterwards, but it did the trick!
A lot of misc stuff basically.
I had bought some stuff in early pregnancy that worked for the 'transition' period on both ends (before maternity clothes fit, and then after baby came).
It could just be the STYLE of the clothes rather than the SIZE you are trying on. Stuff like juniors style, low cut pants, etc just DO NOT fit me now. No matter what size I try. I find 'misses' cuts fit so much better....they aren't 'mom' jeans but are much much more forgiving. I cannot fit into my old pencil skirts at all now, but A-line stuff in my original pre-kids size still fits fine.
Basically, your body may and probably will be forever 'different', and you just need to figure out what flatters that figure, not your old one.

Three weeks after he was born I couldn't handle wearing the mat pants any longer. I went out and bought jeans at Kohls that were a size bigger than I normally wear but a baggie style. Then 3 months after that I went back to Kohls and bought more "normal" (but cheap) jeans that were a size bigger than I normally wear. And a year later I'm still wearing those jeans.
The last 10 lbs are not going anywhere.

The next size up, the one that fit my tummy, looked ridiculously too big on my legs. I just stayed in my maternity pants and jeans. For 9 months. I can tell you after I weened and started dieting I fit back into my old clothes pretty quickly after that. Now, at 12 weeks, i am still in my old clothes.
I found my maternity clothes really comfy. it didn't bother me to keep wearing them, but maybe I'm wierd.
