Success after IF

posting on IF (TTTC)

I know someone asked the other day if you look for SAIFW or only post to girls who you know are ok with your posts.  But how do you feel about posting on a SAIFW post when you know there will be tons of responses (some of which are no-doubt not comfortable with SAIF siggies)?  I hate to not show support (in this case for theWorms) but I also don't want to upset anyone else in the thread.  Thoughts?

Re: posting on IF (TTTC)

  • I feel like I never left IF.  I have been a regular poster there, even after getting my BFP, so I have a good feeling that most people aren't offended by me being there.

After 2 rounds of IVF & 2 rounds of FET, we were blessed with identical twin girls!

  • I look for SAIFW in the title, or put a warning of siggy/tickers below and then leave a bunch of white space before I type so they don't see it/can scroll right past it.

This is how I feel as well.

  • I don't post there unless it is something very specific that I know and many people don't - like Ovarian Drilling.  I love when IF gals come over here with their questions.  That way I know that no feelings are getting hurt.

I would just hate for my tickers and sig to upset someone.

  • If the OP said SAIFW then I feel that the subsequent posters would know what to expect when opening said post.

I agree and that has been the consensus on IF.  If the OP has SAIFW then others know it is possibility to see tickers, pictures, etc. Those with SAIFW love to have graduates come back and give advice and generally cheer them on.

  • I generally figure OP controls - so if OP says SAIFW, I post. Also, if it's someone I know well enough to know they won't be upset. For worms, she fits into both categories so I replied...

  • Lots of people never left IF since we got pregnant. Had our babies. Etc. I do not post there as often as I did when I was in the mist of treatment, but I offer my support when ever I can and have a free moment.

As long as you post offering support and not saying look at me I have a kid, I am pregnant, the majority of posters seem to be fine with SAIF over there.

I do however try not to post to BFN posts unless I am "friends" with the person posting it as I am afraid to upset the person in the moment.

A lot of years and a million tears finally led me to you.
After 7 years trying to concieve, 3 failed IUIs and 2 failed IVFs, my third IVF was a success!
My Christmas baby turned into a turkey bird! Dillon Richard was born at 34 weeks, 5 days on November 28, 2009 after 10 weeks on bedrest for preeclampsia.

I am going to say that the majority of us girls (maybe not all, but probably close to it) over on IF love when SAIFers come back and respond to our questions or posts.  It is nice to see success stories and to get our questions answered.

Plus we like to see the cute SAIF babies!

maybe other IFers will ring in with their feeling as well!

  • Before my BFP, there were polls like this all the time on IF, and most women didn't mind SAIF-ers coming over and posting...very few had issues with it.  I, myself, liked when people didn't "forget" about us once they got their BFPs, so I always welcomed their posts.  I still post over there regularly and keep tabs on those who were in the trenches with me.

Personally, I really apprciate when SAIF people post on the IF board to offer their support, friendship and continue to feel a part of the community, the way Lindsey, Kimarino, Smilee and a few others have continue to do.

What I do not like is when people essentially desert the board and only come back to share their news, ask IF board members to do something for them without responding to posts in return.
