Houston Babies

Stroller advice please...

I plan to return to StrollerFit when this baby is born (6ish weeks after), but I'll likely attend regularly on Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays and M & F when I don't have other commitments.  I'll only have the new baby with me T-TH since DD will be at MDO. I have to have a jogging stroller for the workouts and I have a single Bob so I'm covered on T-Th.  My mom has a double Bob that I could likely use if necessary on Mondays and Fridays with both kids, it's just the inconvenience of picking it up/dropping it back off that has me hesitant.

I'd like a new stroller that will work for all applications, but honestly it doesn't exist.   There's nothing that lets you jog, walk, have two seats or one and a toddler step...basically versatile.  I fear that the double Bob will be too big to go shopping with and that concerns me since most of the time I'll need it would be for occasions like that.  From what I can tell the closest thing to my idea stroller is the Uppa Baby and well...you can't jog with it.  Argh!

So, what would you do?  Buy the double Bob because it will work for every application just fine, it's just big.  Buy the Uppa Baby because it's great for everything we need other than jogging.  Or...don't buy anything, stick it out with the single Bob and made DD walk (reassess down the road).  Thanks gals!

Re: Stroller advice please...

  • I have a double jogging if you want to borrow it and try it out before purchasing one! (Yes I know, I dont have any kiddos and have a double jogging stroller!!! I needed it to haul my adopted children to the rodeo without having to carry them out! - it was worth EVERY PENNY!)

  • well, the nice thing about a BOB is that they have amazing resale value. plus, they have a high weight limit so you can use it until A is 4-5 years old, maybe more since she is petite. of course, i obsessively love my double BOB and get a lot of use out of it. i will tell you that it's big but manageable. i can load/unload from the car myself and it's the stroller of choice for things like Bayou City Art Festival, iFest, and park outings. i actually use it more than my joovy.

  • I have the double BOB and love it, but it's not for the mall.  It's too heavy and takes up too much room in my car.  I love it for things like the zoo, neighborhood walks, etc...  I bought a double umbrella stroller from Craig's List (MacLaren) for $75 bucks.  It's UGLY and isn't nearly as easy to push, but I love it!  I'm so glad I have both.  I literally use both strollers nearly every day...  I don't regret either purchase.  I figured for $75 I could resell it for close to what I paid if I hated it (it's about a $300+ stroller)
  • want to meet up at the zoo one day and you can try out our P&T?  We have the doubles kit and while Mar isn't an infant anymore, you can get an idea of how it works with two kiddos.

I also have the car seat adapter for it so we could try it with the infant seat too.

  • I was going to suggest the Phil & Ted too.  It has a detachable second seat so you could just put it on when you need it, and it's no bigger than a single jogging stroller.

  • Update...I am SO weak...ordered the Bob tonight.  If I need another stroller down the road I'll investigate it (umbrella).  Thanks!
