Does anyone else work the night shift?

Hey Everyone!

Im four weeks pregnant (yay!) and a nurse who works the "graveyard" shift. Lately I am so exhausted that it is almost impossible to stay awake the entire night at work. I was wondering if anyone else works night shift and if you could give me any advice? Thanks so much :)

Re: Does anyone else work the night shift?

  • I'm an RN on the night shift. I've found that making sure I have plenty to snack on, drink lots of ICE COLD water, and just keep moving tends to help. Also, since we have hour-long lunch breaks and I work in the NICU, a couple of times I've locked myself in one of the pump rooms and have taken a nap. It's tough, but you just have to push through.

  • Im a police dispatcher and I work night shift. I know how you feel. And I sit in the dark all night and Im barely on my feet. Its so hard to stay awake.  try and keep quick snacks near me. Something with alittle sugar or something that keeps up the energy. Like fruits. Also anytime I feel myself getting too tired I take a walk but you being a nurse are prob always on your feet.
