Allergies?

Since we have been spending more time outside, J has developed a rattly cough and runny nose.  I think it's allergies...but he coughs so hard sometimes he loses his breath.  Anyone else have this happen? Any advice?

I am going to call the clinic today to see if there is anything we can do for him, but wanted to get y'all's opinions too.  TIA

Re: Allergies?

  • Allergies SUCK... most people are affected this time of hte year - whether or not they have full blown "ALLERGIES" because there is just so much pollen in the air.

You can call the pedi and double check  but we give Avery 1/2 teaspoon of childrens zyrtec at night and it helps a LOT

  • We do the same thing as Sarah, and it does help.

  • Our pedi approves a small dose of liquid children's loratadine (claritin).

  • Yes my LO, along with myself and DH, coughs more at night/middle of the night, She has lost her breath, this morning she had this scared look on her face b/c I guess she couldnt catch her breath. She will also cough to where it makes her gag. The dr has her on an inhaler till the pollen subsides, but she had Brochillitis early on, so that might not be the route for all.
