DVR Poll: Because I'm hormonal (NIFR)

How many hours do you have available on your DVR?

How many are typically already recorded?

Do you divvy it up or does one family member have more recordings than the other?

How long do you leave recordings on the DVR?

How old is your oldest recording?

HYPOTHETICAL question: If you only had maybe ten hours of your shows recorded on the DVR (and maybe someone else had a shitton more) & your Biggest Loser got deleted less than a 1/2 hour after it recorded, would you murder that someone else (who might be your DH) or let this person live?

How many hours do you have available on your DVR? 100 regular, 50 HD

How many are typically already recorded? looks to be pretty d@mn close to 150!

Do you divvy it up or does one family member have more recordings than the other? I have no control.

How long do you leave recordings on the DVR?   ME?  Maybe a week or two.  Others?  Too d@mn long IMO.

How old is your oldest recording?  from the looks of things today, SEVEN months.  I do remember once telling the other person in my house who uses the DVR that we forgot to have a 1st bday party for a DVR recording.

I'm debating, so I'll look to see what you all say.

    p/a rant almost over.  maybe

  • How many hours do you have available on your DVR? I don't know how many hours there is but right now it is 37% full. The fullest it has ever been, I think, was about 60% and that was when we were gone for two weeks.

How many are typically already recorded? as in the same episode records twice...? None, we only record the first airing..or do you mean total? I think we have about 40 shows total on there right now..

Do you divvy it up or does one family member have more recordings than the other? I honestly have no idea how many we each record. We watch a lot of the same shows though..

How long do you leave recordings on the DVR? Depends. A lot of times DH will DVR games that are on TV of teams they will be playing later and he will scout them over and over--so they often stay on a long time. The oldest recording, though is mine..ER Retrospective and the final episode of ER. From 4/2/09.

How old is your oldest recording? just over a year old

HYPOTHETICAL question: If you only had maybe ten hours of your shows recorded on the DVR (and maybe someone else had a shitton more) & your Biggest Loser got deleted less than a 1/2 hour after it recorded, would you murder that someone else (who might be your DH) or let this person live? murder, definitely murder...

  • How many hours do you have available on your DVR? Im not sure about hours but i can tell you that its about 80% full

How many are typically already recorded? A lot. At least 10 different shows, multiple episodes...im about 10 eps. behind on oprah right now...so that doesnt help the space issue we have.

Do you divvy it up or does one family member have more recordings than the other? we watch mainly the same shows but Dh is on night shift so he tapes everything he can think of so hes not stuck watching infomericials.

How long do you leave recordings on the DVR? until we both watched the episode

How old is your oldest recording? Oct. 2009

I would let him live...but I have no control over the fact that a recording of his must have accidently been "canceled". lol Actually I dont think i could do that either as much as I would love too!
  • Kekis you crack me up!

How many hours do you have available on your DVR?  I don't know but it is 37% full.

How many are typically already recorded?  Like season passes?  We have about 50 season passes.

Do you divvy it up or does one family member have more recordings than the other?  I record everything my DH is so busy he never watches tv.  I am home alone most of the time so the DVR is my bestest friend :-).

How long do you leave recordings on the DVR?  depends on what it is but I have saved something for years before

How old is your oldest recording?  We just switched service so only like 1 mo.

Oh there would definitely be murder happening ;-).

How many hours do you have available on your DVR? A lot....like, 100? 150?

How many are typically already recorded? All but about 8 hours

Do you divvy it up or does one family member have more recordings than the other? DH has his own in his office, so I mostly control the one for the living room

How long do you leave recordings on the DVR? Unless it is something I really love, I delete it after watching it.

How old is your oldest recording? Wow...February of 2008!

    Yes!

How many hours do you have available on your DVR? 20 high def...says DH

How many are typically already recorded? most of them...says DH (can you tell who is in charge of the DVR)

Do you divvy it up or does one family member have more recordings than the other?  DH has wayyyy more, he watches too many shows

How long do you leave recordings on the DVR? usually a couple weeks at most

How old is your oldest recording?  funny to see this post tonight, i made DH tape "Hoarders" for me on January 3rd and then never watched it, he's been asking me if he can delete it for 3 months and i wouldnt let him...i finally told him to put it on tonight, didnt pay attention, and then let him delete it lol

How many hours do you have available on your DVR? Don't know hours, but we are at 51% full.

How many are typically already recorded? We have several series recordings, but we set them to only record new eps.

Do you divvy it up or does one family member have more recordings than the other? I usually have way more on the DVR, There are a lot of shows (medical shows, baby shows, etc) that I love that DH hates. I record them and watch them when he isn't home.

How long do you leave recordings on the DVR? I try to watch my shows right away...within a day or two of recording if I can. DH has shows on there for weeks at a time. I usually bug him to either watch or delete.

How old is your oldest recording? *checks* 13 days. DH and I decided to start watching The Marriage Ref, so I DVR it for us to watch together. We watched a couple eps, then he never wants to watch the new ones saved! He always says "not right now". Which means he will wait another month before he finally says he doesn't want to watch the series anymore and I can watch it alone. Same thing that happened with The Biggest Loser. Ugh.

I would be pissed. In fact, I've been in this situation before. Of course, when my shows mysteriously get deleted, and I ask him about it...it is always "I don't know....I didn't do it!". Grrr. With our cable company, I think I can watch Biggest Loser on demand....just haven't gotten around to it yet!

  • We have 3 DVR's in our house. DS has one in his room that is his own to do with as he pleases. Our HD one in the living room has mostly movies/shows that we plan to watch together. It's about 80% full most of the time. The one in the master bedroom is usually about 90% full, mostly of DH's wacky shows he watches. We have over 20 Jeopardy's that go back about a month. We have a few shows from February, but I think thats as old as it gets for now. DH records most of it cause he is much more of a TV addict than me. I don't watch things regularly, but I like to keep the TV on when I'm home alone, or laying in bed going to sleep.
  • How many hours do you have available on your DVR? Not sure. Maybe 35 hours?

How many are typically already recorded? Not sure what this means. But my box hovers between 65 and 99% full.

Do you divvy it up or does one family member have more recordings than the other? I have the vast majority. DH is allowed a couple of high stakes power. But anything he records is the first to go when it gets full.

How long do you leave recordings on the DVR? Oprah- I leave until I am in the moood to watch. I usually watch other stuff within a week.

How old is your oldest recording? Over a year and a half. There was this show on Bravo that featured my exact honeymoon itinerary so we keep it to show family and friends/

MURDER. Everyone knows that they dont mess my DVR and my shows or else. lol.
