how to PM someone?
you go under profile page and there should be a link to send a message? that seems logical but I can't see it or is there a different way?

The easy way is if there's a post somewhere that the person started or replied to- at the bottom of their post, near the reply button, is a contact button. Click on that and it'll give you the option to send a PM to that person.
