Someone once told me if there was tears than it ment that there was something wrong vs if they cried without tears it ment that they were just fussing. But really not sure if there is truth to that statment.
I will add -- when my DD is just tired, she has a fussing noise that she makes that's different than a true cry. Maybe that's what your friend meant about the tears/no tears statement?
DD has tears anytime she doesn't get what she's wanting w/in a minute or two. it could mean she's hungry, tired, not feeling good, or just grumpy for no reason, so I don't think that's true.
For my DD, there's tears when she's hungry...there's crying but no tears if I've somehow missed a poopy diaper...and there's these adorable mawr mawr mawr noises when she's sleepy.
Seth has never had tears when he's cried. Well, actually, the other day his eyes looked wetter than they ever have when he's cried, but that's it. Never any moisture coming out of the eye. But he does need things when he cries. So I think whoever told you that is nuts
