Where do you get DC's hair cut?

DS needs a haircut.  For his first hair cut I took him to DH's barber shop.  I had to put him in my lap and distracting him was a nightmare.  But it went ok, so we went back there for his second hair cut.  It went much worse that time.  So I decided to try to cut it myself...bad idea.  So, now I am trying to find a place that specializes in kid hair cuts and has one of those cars or something for him to sit in, be distracted by, but my google searches are coming up with nothing.  It is absolutely possible that my city doesn't have a place like that, but I won't give up just yet.  So where do you get your childs hair cut?

    He goes to the same place that DH and I go to. His entire family goes to the same woman.

    We take him to dh's barber - dh holds him. He won't sit still for me, but for some reason he will for dh. Have you tried your dh holding him?

    The Famous Hair in my town has one station set up for kids.  There is a horse type thing and a TV with VCR.  It didn't help DS though.  He still screamed through the whole thing.  I dread going back.

    I get DS's done at the local "Kids Klips and Closet" or something like that. They have Jeeps and 4 wheelers to sit in, and they only do kids hair. DS can watch Thomas while they do it. I think it is about $15 per cut, which is a bargain on a moving target.

    If I searched online, I couldn't find a place. We noticed this one when we were driving by one day. If you have a local mommy group or storytime, I would ask the moms there.

    Cartoon cuts.  They have TVs at every station that play cartoons.  If you dont have one do you have a portable DVD player you could bring?

    First haircut was at a barber shop because DH INSISTED.  It was not the easiest/best experience.  SInce then we go to a kids cutting place in town and they are GREAT with him and have those car seats and put videos on for them to distract them.  He does very well there and he loves to go because they give out cookies and balloons to the kids.

    we went to a few expensive places with TVs etc and DS screamed and wiggled thru all of them. then we went to the barber and he went right after DH. He said "my turn" and was excited for it. sat still and got his best cut yet for much cheaper. we will only use the barber now. good luck!

    We went to a kid's barber shop. He sat in a little fire truck and watched a cartoon while they cut his hair.
