1) Take a long hot shower in the dark--darker the better. If in the evening even better with the bathroom night off. It relaxes and calms me.
2) Take a drive by myself to chill out. We live on a farm so either in a vehicle or on the 4-wheeler. If in a vehicle I sometimes just drive in silience or turn the radio on and listen to some turns. On the 4-wheeler sometimes I will just go down the pasture, turn the 4-wheeler off and just watch/listen to the cows/calves in the pasture. Very calming!
3) Nap or at least lay down and close my eyes
4) I do this even if I'm at work at in a stressful situation--I just close my eyes for a few seconds and take some large deep breaths. Amazing how much that helps!
5) If my baby's sleeping--I love to walk into his room and watch him sleep. This automatically makes my problems melt away! Everything I've been worrying about seems so little.

Re: POLL: Top 5 ways to de-stress/relax
Bath and a trashy magazine (tabliod trashy, not porn trashy) - takes my mind off whatever I am stressed about and I don't have to leave the house
Sit on the deck with a cup of coffee and a good book
Glass of wine with the girls
Walk on a trail in the woods
Take a Yoga class
Go for a run
Take a yoga class
Shop alone
Nap
Read a magazine, preferably outside in the shade when it's warm
If it's nice, spend time outside, whether w/ the kids or without
And while outside if I'm walking around downtown getting a yummy cup of coffee or a smoothie
Shopping by myself
Yoga- I'm addicted
Sitting down to take time to actually read something (not just skimmin it while nodding and smiling at either DH or DD
Add: and getting a pedi! How could I forget that one? I'm super excited to get one tomorrow
Go outside if it's nice.
Drink a Coronita or Sangria.
Watch Project Runway, HGTV or something non-stressful like that.
A nice long shower.
Go out to eat.
Yoga used to help me a lot but I have not done it since I left the gym.

Hanging out with my sister
1. Find a quiet place to read a non-thinking book for few minutes. (Nora Roberts is a favorite for me)
2. Have a glass of wine either outside if it's nice or with friends
3. Take a walk
4. Watch some mindless television. I find ABC Family works well for this.
5. Take a long, hot shower
1. Long hot shower
2. Doing the dishes (sounds crazy even to me, but if there are dishes in the sink I can't relax)
3. Reading
4. Glass of wine
5. Walk/jog/exercise
1. Run or swim--there's something about the rhythm and repetition that is very soothing. Plus, it's hard to be mad after getting some exercise.
2. Read--I read once that even reading for 7 minutes has been shown to decrease stress levels.
3. Long, hot bath with a book. Or sitting in the steam room or hot tub at the gym
4. Getting out by myself for a little while--just to window shop or get a cup of coffee.
5. Call a friend.
1. Bubble bath with candles and a vibrator
2. Vibrator sans bath and candles
3. Watch some porn
4. Read a book
5. Get it on with DH

Day Three
1. Run, lift or some form of butt kicking exercise!
2. Deeeeeep breathing.
3. Run, lift or some form of butt kicking exercise! (AGAIN!)
4. Read my sweet daughter a story and watch her fall asleep in my arms (probably the best of all!)
5. Sweep. Yup, I'm a little nuts-it's soothing though!
