DD is EBF has refused a bottle up until yesterday. I've only been putting 2 oz. in at a time so that I'm not wasting breast milk. Today, I put 5 oz. since she drank everything the day before. She took everything except for a very tiny bit. I am pumping right now and have gotten 4 oz., but I know babies are more efficient so I should expect to get less. Does that sound about right for 9 weeks? TIA ::goes off to do happy dance that DD has finally accepted a bottle::

Re: How many ounces for 9 week old?
It's hard to tell. We're struggling with the same question for DS. While I'm at work, he takes about 6-7 oz. twice (I'm gone from 7 am-5:30 pm). I only pump about 9 oz. while I'm at work. So, I'm having a hard time building a stash for when I'm back at work full time. Scared!
you also need to factor in then number of time LO is feeding in a 24 hr period. LO should be eating 2.5 - 3 times his/her body weight (i.e. 10 lb baby should eat between 25 and 30 oz) and then you need to divide that by the approximate number of feedings and then you should know if LO has enough (so 2 oz might be fine if he/she eats many times during the day). At 9 weeks when I pump for a meal LO eats 4 oz (about 8 meals a day - some pump and some BF and 9 lbs 10 oz at 2 month appt), You doctor should have said something at the 2 month appointment if they were concerned LO wasn't eating enough
