I have never used a cover for nursing and always wear nursing tanks. With the warmer weather coming I may try nursing bras and don't want my tummy uncovered. I also think it may cut down on distractions for my little guy.
You might find that the cover is more of a distraction for your little guy than going without but I can understand your desire to not show everyone your belly! I just went with a cheapy cover from Target and it worked well. It was whatever Hooter Hider makes for Target, can't remember the exact name. I thought it was good because it had the boning at the top so I could look down on DS and was a lightweight material. I'm not sure what else would make a good or bad cover though because we didn't use it for long before DS would just play with it or became enamored by the pattern while he was supposed to be nursing.
I had one like Army described, but it was made my a local WAH mom. It's funny but I rarely used it in public. I used it much more around family because I preferred to be more covered in front of my brother and dad.
Re: Recommend your nursing cover?
The Couture Baby Bond doesn't cover baby, but will help cover you (and belly!) I have one and really like it.
