Hey Ladies! Tegan had her 4 month appt this afternoon. She did great and is now happily sleeping in her crib. She currently weighs 12 lbs 15 oz and is 23.5 inches long. So, she's up 2 lbs 12 oz and 2 inches from her last appointment. Anyway, early I posted the questions I was going to ask and I had a couple of requests to post the answers, so here ya go..
Questions for Pediatrician
1.) Solid Food Questions:
a. When should we introduce solids?
Anytime between 4-6 months
b. What is a good way to start solids?
Cereal first and then one new food every 3 days
c. What foods should we introduce first?
After cereal should come veggies
d. What should we do in case of an allergic reaction?
stop giving that particular food and call pedi if severe reaction occurs
e. What are some signs of an allergic reaction?
diarrhea is the most common, but also hives, rash, swelling, etc.
2.) Sunscreen Questions:
a. When can we use sunscreen/sun block on her?
She said it's best to use it if we are going to be in the sun all day, she said baby sunscreen won't hurt a LO under 6 months old
b. What is a good sunscreen/sun block to use?
baby sunscreen w/ something called helioplast?
c. Why do the bottles say wait until a baby is 6 months?
so that they aren't liable for adverse reactions in younger babies
d. What can we do if she gets sunburned?
leave it alone as long as it isn't severe
3.) Water Questions:
a. Why shouldn?t you give baby water?
didn't ask this question
b. At what age can we give her water, and how much?
6 months, in a sippy cup is best and no more than 4-6 ounces a day
c. Can we give her water this summer to help her keep hydrated?
basically the same answer as above
d. Is it safe for her ears to be under the water?
100% safe!
4.) Other General Questions:
a. How much formula is too much?
30-32 ounces
b. How much should she be drinking in a day?
she's almost 13 lbs, is drinking 27 oz a day and pedi said that is perfect
c. When should we expect her to go to only 2 longer naps a day instead of short naps?
when she starts taking 2 longer naps, lol!
d. What are some good remedies for teething pain?
cold washcloth, cold teether, tylenol
e. Can teething cause runny diapers?
yes, but teething does not cause a fever, if your LO has a fever something else is wrong!

I must disagree with your pedi a little on the teething thing.
My oldest DD has ran a low grade temp (never any higher than 100.2) with every new tooth. Just know that it may happen.
