3rd Trimester

Anyone's LO breech and flip after 30 weeks?

I asked about the positioning of the baby at my 29 week appointment and the baby is breech.  My OB isn't concerned since he said this is common in 25% of pregnancies at this point and the baby still has time to flip.  He said they don't start talking about options until 35 weeks.  Just curious if anyone's LO flipped after 30 weeks and if so, could you actually feel the baby flip?  I never knew the positioning of DD and she turned out to be head down at the time of my delivery (which was at 35 weeks).

  • Our baby boy is breech, so good question!  Don't have any answer but thought I would comment because your daughter's name is Harper and that's what we're naming our son!

  • My LO flipped around 34 weeks. Dh and I laid in bed and watched My belly go kinda crazy for a while and the next day it all fell different and MW said he flipped. Were convinced it was that night
  • Yes! They can definitely flip after 30 weeks! Our little girl was breech and just flipped, when I was right at 32 weeks!

  • my bff is 8 weeks ahead of me and her baby finally flipped around 34 weeks.  she said it was "an event." LOL!  she got nauseas and it was uncomfortable, but she's relieved.

  • Mine flipped somewhere between my 29 week u/s and my 33 week appt.  I didn't notice when it happened though.
  • Oh yeah...my little one kept flipping back and forth between head up and down until last week. I can tell because when she gets the hick ups I can feel where her head is. My Dr said at 35 weeks they should stay put, otherwise we'd discuss our options at that point. I'm praying she will stay head down, because I heard to flip them around can be painful.
  • Mine just flipped to breech, as of yesterday's external exam yesterday. I won't have a u/s until next friday (38w1d) to confirm. My OB said babies flip all the time all the way up until delivery. We aren't discussing options until after my 38 week appt and he said if I happen to go into labor now, they would confirm position at the hospital and discuss options then but there was no use in even discussing it at this point because he could flip at anytime. He said even still, after my 38 week appt he could still flip or flip back, you just never know.

  • this didn't happen to me- but it did happen to my mom.

She went to the Dr's office with my one brother a day or two past her due date. They told him he was breech and then they manually flipped him.  While she was driving home, he flipped back breech.    The next day he got himself into position and she went into labour, delivered no problem.   Babies have a way of knowing that they should come head first...  i woudn't worry....

  • My LO's still a breech...
  • The Monkey was breech at 35 weeks, head down at 37 and has been doing what feels like somersaults since then.  We'll have an u/s this afternoon to confirm position and if she's breech or transverse, the c-section will be Tuesday.  Otherwise they want to induce at 39 weeks.

  • Mine flipped at 30 weeks but was told by my doc previously that they wait till the 36 week appt before discusssing the possible birth plans (if baby is still breech by then).
