I'm pregnant with my first but I'll be honest. This isn't done in my area. Now I have attended small surprise showers for second time moms but there was no registry. You have all the big stuff so I'm assuming people will just pick out the boy things you mentioned (bibs, clothes, blankets, etc) on their own if they want to get you something.
Yes I am. We're going to need alot of baby boy clothes and some other stuff that has gotten old since DD used them 3 years ago. Plus people are going to buy gifts anyways and they'll need to know what I need.
Yes we are registering if we are having a boy! mainly because DH's mom has insisted on throwing us a shower so it will make it easier on others I think. Our bigger items are all gender neutral (stroller, carseat, high chair, bouncer etc...) but the little stuff is all very girly. So registering for a few things won't hurt
I will not be registering or having another shower, regardless of the sex. We have all the big stuff which I purposefully got in neutral colors. If its a girl, I will be happy to buy my own clothing. The only reason I might register is for the completion coupon, but I wouldn't tell anyone. Where I am from, 2nd showers are unheard of.
2nd showers are not done where I'm from. I never even heard of it before I came on the nest. I did register for one thing- a new stroller- but only because my sister asked me to so she could remember which double stroller I wanted. If any friends or family want to get us a gift, they'll do it on their own or ask if I need anything.
Having said all that, if it's appropriate in your area to do so, then go ahead. I don't knock someone else for it if it's ok where they live. I just couldn't do it here or I would be called a lot of unkind names.
3 IUI's and 2 IVF's later- Brady arrived. Born at 36 weeks after PUPPS and pre-e/HELLP.
IUI- BFN IVF #1 -BFP! Allie is our 2nd IVF baby. Born at 36 1/2 weeks after pre-e again

This. I'm happy to buy clothes, but as our LO will only be 18 months when #2 is born we need another crib so I'm totally registering for the coupon. Although I won't tell anyone but my mom, it'll make it easy for us to pick out what we need and then get a discount on the things that never go on sale like the new pump I want.
Definitely not registering or having a shower. I have a wishlist on amazon.com where I keep track of the few things we plan to get for DS...I suppose if my mom or someone close asked if there was anything we needed, I could direct them there, but that's about it.
We didn't register for the second even though it was a different sex and we ended up having two showers (a surprise one at work and a small friend 'get together'). We got a lot of clothes which was nice and all that was really needed and imo you don't need a registry for clothes - people will buy what they like and think is cute. We also got diapers, diaper bag, blankets, bibs and cute little girly things...basically small things that I wouldn't necessarily put on the registry myself.

Second showers (and 3rd and 4th) are VERY normal where I'm from. Some people register, others don't.
FWIW, we will make a small selection of girly odds and ends at a local boutique. We are purchasing anything big we want ourselves.
