Do babies take so much more time to clot!?

I accidentally nicked DS's finger while trimming his nails. He didn't complain and I didn't notice for a while until there was all this blood on his shirt and I looked to see where it came from.  So I wrapped it tightly for a while, figuring it would clot... nope, more blood just kept pouring out... this went on for like 20 minutes. I even tried Hydrogen Peroxide. No dice. I finally just put a bandaid on him.  Does this seem like an abnormally long time to bleed or are babies worse clotters?

    That actually doesn't seem right to me.  I have been surprised at how quickly DD heals from cuts (she scratches herself and draws blood constantly, but it heals really quickly).  Maybe it was a deeper cut than you think?
