My husband's brother is getting married in July. The bride is having 2 separate showers (to manage large Irish and large Italian families coming together). The bridesmaids are throwing the shower for the bride's side of the family. I'm working/hosting with MIL to do the shower for the groom's side of the family. I got an invite to the bridesmaids shower yesterday. Should I attend the first shower even though I'm already throwing the second one? Or am I excused because I will be giving a gift along with throwing a whole second party for her?

Re: NBR: bridal shower question
I see it as probably a courtesy invite. She has likely invited other family members to the first shower and didn't want to exclude you just because you were hosting the second shower. I don't see it as gift grabby (but having said that if I were you I would just bring a card and maybe a book to the first shower rather than a big gift).
This.
