  Careful though with the "organic" mattresses.  Some mattresses will say they are organic, when only the filling is organic and the rest is not.   I got the Naturepedic one.  Yes it cost an arm and a leg, but it is truely 100% organic.  Everything about it is.  You get what you pay for seriously - cause I did alot of research to find an "affordable" organic mattress.  Truth is - they don't exist.  Maybe someone can help you buy it - like give you money as a baby gift or something.  That's kinda what we did.

  Someone on another board actually bought their Naturepedic from kohls.com and used coupon codes and got it down to $160...so I may try that.  However all mattresses by law have to have the fire retardant protection barrier, so I definitely agree that there really is no such thing as 100% organic mattress, as they all must have some chemical in them in order to be legally sold.  I am going to check out kohls and see what I can manage, the LA Baby Organic mattress from Costco looks pretty good as well...but everyone's advice is much appreciated, thank you : )
