I am working on my registry, and I have a question. Are you ladies registering for a big jumper and a swing? Also - If you're getting a doorway jumper, do you need a big one too? Here's a pic of the big jumper we're thinking about. . . TIA!
We have a jumparoo and swing, and ds absolutely loves his jumparoo now. We have the Fisher Price rainforest one, and he goes nuts in it. For us, the swing was nicer when he was small and he could sleep in it.

I would say that registering for the jumparoo and the doorway jumper is a little redundant. But, I'm a fan of having as little "stuff" as possible. I want the doorway jumper just because every sibling I had (I'm one of 8) loved those things - and they can be taken down and put away without taking up much space. I'm not sure about the swing yet...still contemplating that one. I just know that it's a 50/50 chance that my baby will hate it. A lot of my friends have suggested just borrowing those sorts of items. If your baby happens to like it - you'll know pretty quickly - then you can buy one of your own. But it is a huge item (the jumparoo too) to just have sitting around - especially if your baby doesn't like it. Keep in mind though - this is my 1st and I'm just telling you what my impressions are and what I've heard from others. So, no personal experience here.
I would stick with the jumper that you posted a pic of because it is stationary. I've heard that with doorway jumpers unless you have a extra large doorway, LO can bounce right into the wall!
I'd get the swing & the Jumparoo. DD hated her swing, but a lot of babies don't. I think the Jumparoo is the best baby gear item ever, hands down. DD was addicted.
We had a jumperoo and a swing. We used the swing A LOT when she was really little. We couldn't use the jumperoo until she was older . . . so to me, getting one doesn't exclude the other. I like the stand alone jumperoo because it has more interactive things for her to play with, plus a doorway jumper wouldn't work at our house.
Oh, and FWIW, my DD still likes to play in her jumperoo sometimes (and she's 14 months old).

I agree. We own all 3. First off, they are for different time periods. You can't stick a newborn in a jumperoo. We wouldn't never have survived the first month without a swing. The jumperoo was great because I could put DS in it and not have to watch him every single second. With a doorway jumper you would. Also, he didn't get a Johnny jump up until he was a bit older, otherwise he just hung there.
You'll want a swing, the FP cradle swing is wonderful.
I like the jumperoo better, seemed to entertain my kids better than a doorway one. The doorway one is nice because it's small, but not as much fun for them.

Well you aren't going to use the jumperoo until LO is old enough to support his head/body weight, same with an excersaucer. We got DS a jumperoo around four months and he loved the thing. We got an excersaucer a couple months later and he didn't really like it, so I would say jumperoo over excersaucer.
The swing is for NB's. The jumper is for when they're older and probably not using the swing as much. I prefer the stationary jumper. You don't also need a doorway jumper.
I think we've signed up for a jumperoo (the kids at the daycare I use to work at LOVED it and fought over it) and a swing. I was apparently addicted to the swing, my mom used the words "baby crack" so I'm pretty sure my kid will love it too. I wouldn't get the door jumper and the jumperoo, that's a lot of jumpers and the door jumper doesn't even have any toys to occupy them while you're trying to cook and whatnot.
DD loved her bouncer, hated the swing and thinks that the jumparoo is the best toy ever. she even stands next to it now to play with the toys. I am glad we used my friends swing and didnt buy one. Some kids love them.

This. We had both a swing (newborn age) and jumperoo (4mo +)
We used the swing from Day 1 until DD was about 5 months. We got the jumparoo when DD was 4 months, but really started using it after 5 months until she was about 9 months or so.
i actually a jumperoo already, it was my nephew's but he hated it, so my sis gave it to me. I didnt have a choice in the matter because we dont have door frames anywhere but the bedrooms and so the doorway jumper wouldnt have made any sense. The jumperoos are usually nice and portable too!
Re: Jumparoo vs. doorway jumper vs swing. . .
definitly don't need a big jumper and a doorway jumper. we are getting a swing and jumper, but decided on this space saver jumper:

oh and if you think about it, by the time they are in the jumper, they probably will be to big for the swing, or won't want to be in it.
good luck!
