I like how it hooks onto the stroller....

Re: Skip Hop Diaper Bags

  • I really dislike mine. In theory I loved the bag but I hate that when there is stuff in it the flap doesn't close right. I am searching to replace it as we speak
A lot of years and a million tears finally led me to you.
After 7 years trying to concieve, 3 failed IUIs and 2 failed IVFs, my third IVF was a success!
My Christmas baby turned into a turkey bird! Dillon Richard was born at 34 weeks, 5 days on November 28, 2009 after 10 weeks on bedrest for preeclampsia.

  • I bought the Via Messenger.  Baby isn't here yet so I haven't used it, but I like all the pockets and zippered compartments and crammed it full of stuff I think I'll need when I got home and it works for me.  I got it in black so DH will use it too.

  • I really like my Duo.  The fabric hasn't aged a day in my 2.5 years of lugging it around.  It's so easy to wipe down and has a space for everything.  I don't use the clip-to-stroller option as much as I thought I would, but I think that's because I have the huge basket on my Uppa, so I just throw it down there.  It is a nice feature to have when I have actually used it, though...keeps everything at your fingertips as you're out for a walk.

I suggest Skip Hop in general to my friends, but recently have started suggesting the ones with the flap over the top (though maybe I shouldn't if pp says she has a hard time getting it to close...that makes sense)  The only reason I've suggested that is because I was recently caught in a downpour and the inside of my bag got a little wet and I had to throw away 4-5 diapers.  Not a huge tragedy for happening once in 2.5 years, but still made me think about having a flap instead.  But maybe not now!  Love the bag, the fabric is great, had to replace the changing pad once and it was cheap and easy to get from the website.

  • Which one are you looking at?  After LOTS of searching I picked the Skip Hop Studio and I really like it.  I haven't had the baby yet but it has been packed and ready to go for a while now.  It holds so much stuff!  I like the way it hooks on the stroller too.  Good luck with your search!

  • Like it, don't love it. Its a pain to hook on the stroller, but its a nice feature- I have a Bugaboo- so I have limited basket space and once its hooked on I LOVE it! I think it holds everything nicely- definlaty like the flap style best.

I am on the hunt for a new bag, one that looks more like a purse, only becasuse I cannot lug a purse and a diaper bag around- I will keep the Skip Hop for her day care diaper bag though. It really does hold up well- and you can wipe it off very easily.

I don't know which Skip Hop the pp have or which one you are looking at. I have the studio and although I haven't officially used it yet, I love how many pockets it has and have toted it around a bit.. and think it's great. My SIL has the duo and she loves her and originally recommended that to me.

  • I LOVE my dash, but I did find it to be too small for cloth diapers, so I got the via and that one works great for me.  No complaints from me.

  • I just got the Duo Deluxe and I love it! Plenty of space but not huge and lots of pockets.

  • I haven't used it yet, but I have the Skip Hop Studio and I love it. It is light weight and will work perfect as a purse as well.

  • I have the Studio in the Silver Dot pattern and I love it!
  • I have a Duo and a Dash (and a Spark, their Target line).  As long as you don't put anything in the flap the Dash closes just fine.  There isn't a huge difference between the Duos and the Spark.  Just a few more pockets.  After almost two years of usage they still look like new.  Out of all the diaper bags I have, they have the best pockets.

  • I received my Studio in Champagne from Target yesterday. I love it so far. It's really lightweight and very nice looking-- it will work great as a purse also. It has a lot of pockets and options. However-- I don't really like the stroller hooks! I hooked it on the stroller last night (while empty) and found it a little awkward. I think it'd be easier with a carbiner (sp?) type system where you can do it one handed, whereas I needed two to hook the bag on.

Maybe I just need more practice....?
