So yeah, I'm pregnant... for the moment. Fingers crossed that it sticks.
I've been spotting since Saturday night, mostly red but sometimes brown. Until this morning it was just a little spotting, but definitely red and disconcerting. Today it turned into full on red bleeding (complete with small clots, and a good amount of red blood when I wipe).
I have seen the heartbeat via u/s three different times, as recently as yesterday (and it's a good heart rate).
The nurse at my OB's office (and the OB, according to her) isn't too concerned - because we saw the heartbeat yesterday, they both think that it's just a "bleeding episode" - some kind of a small tear or a pocket of blood that's coming out, or an irritated cervix.
I had light spotting with DS, but nothing like this. Did anyone have bleeding like this and continue to have a successful pregnancy? I'm trying to be hopeful, and scared out of my mind at the same time.
Re: Did anyone have a "bleeding episode" while pregnant?
I am having a lot of spotting today and yesterday. Some of it is pink, and I have had a lot of dark brown today. With DS, I spotted a few times but it was always after sex, and always light pink. No sex for the past week this time, so the spotting is terrifying for me.
I go in to the doctor tomorrow morning for an u/s, unless the spotting gets any worse and then the doc recommends I go to the urgicare.
I hope the other posters have good stories for us, and I will pray for your little one!

They looked, but because it's early they haven't been able to see much as far as what could be causing the bleeding. Guesses at this point are an irritated cervix, a pocket of blood that just needs to come out, and/or some kind of small tear (possibly related to the placenta). Apparently 7 weeks is too early to diagnose these things? I don't know.
They've told me I don't need to be on full bed rest, but that I should avoid picking up Topher, I shouldn't do exercise of any kind, and I should "take it very easy" .... soooo, that's pretty much bed rest to me! I haven't really gotten off the couch today.
several. two during this pregnancy (18 and 32 weeks) and a bad bleed @ 34 weeks w/ my last due to placenta previa. It was scary, but turned out okay. I hope all goes well.
I had a Subchorionic Hemorrhage at 5 wks with DD. It basically was a small seperation between the placenta and uterine wall. I was placed on modified bed rest and the tear healed but formed a Subchorionic Hematoma which is basically a pocket of blood between the placenta and uterine wall. The bleeding was like a heavy period at 5wks and slowly tapered off as the tear healed between week 5 and 9. At week 14, I began passing blood and clots which was the hematoma releasing. That lasted for about 3 wks on and off. I stayed on modified bed rest till week 23 just to be sure that the pocket wouldn't reform. DD had a small ambilical cord and was therefore small (5lbs 15oz) at 41 1/2 wks when she was delivered. She is perfectly healthy thought and never spent time in the NICU.
Best of Luck!! Take it easy, don't lift anything over 10lbs and wait and see what happens. It can be very scary!
I did. I started bleeding heavily right around 7 weeks. It turns out that I had a subchorionic bleed. It was terrifying. I bled heavily for a day or two and then had continued spotting for about two weeks or so. I had two ultrasounds to monitor the bleed to make sure that it wasn't harmful to the placenta. I had never heard of this and found some scary stuff when I googled it (I know. I shouldn't have), but it's much more common than people realize. A friend of mine wound up experiencing the same thing a few months later.
Everything turned out fine. DD is now 20 mos old!
I'm sending good thoughts your way.
