Baby stuck on one side?

Ok, this is kind of random, but I feel like Slash is kind of "stuck" on one side.  If my belly is in quadrants, I *almost* always feel him kicking the the upper left quadrant, sometimes the lower left, but it's like there's no action on the right side hardly ever... very occasionally.

I'm going to the dr on Thursday so I'll ask, just thought I'd run it by you guys and see what you think.  Maybe he's just comfy over there?  I'm def getting to the point where I can feel legs and hands and not just flutters, seems like his head is down and feet at just up on the left side, it's just weird.  Like his placenta and stuff is all over on the right and he's just fine with that.

Anyone think that's a big cause for concern?

Re: Baby stuck on one side?

  • I have the same problem...Always on the left side, but when I talked to my Dr about it he reminded me I had surgery on that side and had my ovary and tube removed. My placenta is also in front and mostly to the right side. Dr chalked it up to the baby having more room on that side than the other and said as long as I was feeling kicks and movement SOMEWHERE, doesn't matter where he is positioned.

  • It could be that slash has his/her back on the right and limbs on the left.
  • Good points, thank for the responses.  I'm for sure feeling him a TON- just all in one area.  He measured a little bit small (like 30% or something) so it could be that he's just comfy over there and his back is to the R side.

Now I'm going to hit the hay and let him beat up my left side a little bit more.  Wink  Love it.

  • Andrew was much the same way.  From about 28 weeks on he was head down, feet up under my ribs and usually in a C shape with his rump shifting back and forth.  I never felt him kick, just felt that rump shove it's way out and then slowly move from one side to the other.  I also had a anterior placenta so that didn't help as far as my ability to feel movement either.
  • I'd say 90% of the time I only felt Elliott on the right side.  My belly would also often be lopsided to the right.  I never asked the dr about it and all was fine.  I just assumed he liked that side for some reason.

Both my kids preferred my right side.  S more so- I would be super lopsided with her.  I always assumed its because I have some scar tissue on my left side (just below my belly button).  I figured there was just more room on the right...

  • E was always horizontal, but I definitely felt her more on one side then the other. She always seemed to want to pinch my sciatic nerve and just sit on it.
  • Bubbs hangs out on my right side a ton. As a matter of fact, he's there right now.

  • Mine has been on the right side since about 29-30 weeks. Sometimes I can feel him kicking my right hip bone. Such a weird sensation. And my belly is totally lopsided.
