My DH had to take our oldest cat Kitty to the ER last night and she died on the way there
she was 15 1/2 yrs old. She lived a long and happy life but it is still heartbreaking.
She woke us up with crazy panting/howling last night and she was acting very disoriented. She didn't seem to recognize us or answer to her name and it was pretty scary. She ended up circling her way into the guest bathroom's tub where I grabbed her with some leather gloves. She bit me (thankful for the gloves) and her pupils were fully dilated and I could tell she had no idea of what was going on.
The vet thinks she had a blood clot that caused her to have a stroke. At least she didn't suffer for very long.
Thanks for listening.
Re: NTTCR: sad day :(
awwww hun....I am so so sorry that you had to go through that. You poor thing. I am also sorry for you kitty. Losing an animal (especially one that was with you for so long) is never a nice thing. I wish you strength in the days ahead. Know in your heart that you were a wonderful kitty mama for all those years with her! *hugs*

Aw, Char.
I'm so sorry you lost your kitty.
You gave her a great life, and so much love. As I know that she gave you tons of love and happiness.
As someone who just lost a 16-year-old kitty, I know that while it is nice to know they exceeded their kitty life expectancies, it doesn't take away the pain or sorrow of losing them.

I'm so sorry for your loss {{{hugs}}}. I've gone through something similar...it's heartbreaking.
When an animal dies that has been especially close to someone here, that pet goes to Rainbow Bridge. There are meadows and hills for all of our special friends so they can run and play together. There is plenty of food, water and sunshine, and our friends are warm and comfortable.
They all run and play together, but the day comes when one suddenly stops and looks into the distance. His bright eyes are intent. His eager body quivers. Suddenly he begins to run from the group, flying over the green grass, his legs carrying him faster and faster.
You have been spotted, and when you and your special friend finally meet, you cling together in joyous reunion, never to be parted again. The happy kisses rain upon your face; your hands again caress the beloved head, and you look once more into the trusting eyes of your pet, so long gone from your life but never absent from your heart.
Then you cross Rainbow Bridge together....

Oh Char, I am so sorry. Or pets are our kids.
"Grieve not,
nor speak of me with tears,
but laugh and talk of me
as if I were beside you.....
I loved you so --
'twas Heaven here with you."
Oh Char...I'm so sorry. Losing a pet is soooo hard. Give Vinny and your other furbabies extra hugs tonight.
