Planet Detergent ?

I've been researching detergent for CD's on just about every website I can find (Pinstripes, Abby's Lane, Diaper Jungle, Zany Zebra, etc) and I think I want to use Planet Ultra. We don't have a lot of the natural options in town so it's pretty much gotta be anything I can find at the grocery store, and they have Planet at Kroger's. So....if you use Planet, do you find that you have to strip your CD's a lot? Also, what is your washing method? Abby's Lane says you always have to do a hot wash....

 Thanks!

Re: Planet Detergent ?

  • We had build up issues with Planet once we moved (so something about the water here doesn't rinse clean which I've noticed in other respects as well).  Our wash routine was cold water rinse, hot water full cycle with extra rinse.  I would do a hot wash anyway just because that will help kill germs.

  • I use Planet and like it. I do a cold wash no detergent, hot/cold with Planet, extra rinse. I've only been CDing for 7 weeks but the detergent works great for us so far, no issues or stink.
  • I do a cols rinse hot wash with detergent, I fill the cap to 1 1/2 line otherwise they don't get clean, and another rinse. Works good so far I've been using it for a yr now.
  • We've never had to strip with Planet, but we also don't use microfiber.

Our wash routine is - cold rinse, no detergent.  Hot wash w/ detergent, extra rinse.
