switching to convertible

when did you switch from the infant/carrier carseat to the convertible one? i think i have to do it now but it is bittersweet for me.  i don't want to give up the convenience and it means my little boy is growing up!

Re: switching to convertible

  • Although we bought a convertible during the big Britax sale last month, we haven't switched out of the infant seat yet although DS is 9 months old and nearly 20 lbs. I never understood the rush, personally. I'm very petite (less than 100 lbs.) and even today I carried him in it from the car into the post office since he was fast asleep. You should see my biceps! ;-)

  • We are getting ready too.  DS is quickly growing out of his carrier! :-(
  • I am switching it out tomorrow.  DS is 19 lbs., his feet stick out, and all this week he has been leaning forward to see out of the window(it looks pretty funny when he does this).  He is clearly ready for a little more freedom and a "sitting" position. I'll just have to be sure to have our umbrella stroller or Ergo in the trunk at all times as he can't sit up for long on his own quite yet.
  • I have a Chicco and will use it until she outgrows it in either leight (30 in) or weight (30 lbs)... I feel like I didn;t pay the extra money for nothing and I am going to get my moneys worth... she still falls alseep in it sometimes too...
