i actually didn't cut the cord until all of the blood from it was pumped into dd...i don't think i would of been able to bank it because of that.

We donated her cord blood.

Just curious who did it and why.- We did it because DH had childhood cancer and I did not want to take any chances if godforbid something should happen to anyone in our family.

What company did you use?? We used CBR

How was your experience using them?? They were wonderful. As soon as Matthew was born, I think my doctor called them and the courier was there (I was in the recovery room when they came). The courier came over to me to make sure I knew that they were there. Then I got an e-mail the next day telling me they received it. A few days later I got a phone call from them telling me how many cells they recovered.

Are you going to save the cord blood for your next child?? I'm undecided

No, we let her have it all. We didn't cut the cord until it had stopped pulsing. If I ever did save cord blood I would donate it instead of saving it for ourselves.

Yes we did. After researching we decided that this was a good insurance policy so to speak. We used CBR. They've been great.

No, I wanted to donate it though and our hospital didn't offer it. :-(

no, we donated it; the science just isnt there yet--in most cases you can't use the CB on that child anyways; I figured we could donate and help advance the science and/or help someone else out.
