Medium Flow at 1 month?

Is it normal to switch from Slow to Medium flow nipples at 1 month? LO has been using Medela nipples and we use playtex drop in nurser with a slow flow nipple and that one seemed fasted and LO had no gas or spit up. I'm wondering if I switch to Medela medium flow if it would be the same or even if a 1 month old should have medium flow?

Sorry if this is a dumb question.

    Try it.. if it seems too fast.. switch back.. and I agree the playtex slow flow nipple is NOT slow!!! DD just switched to the Y nipple with Dr Browns (would be on #2 but she is on Similac Sensitive RS!).

    I'm following up with a question rather than an answer sorry ... but I use the Medela bottles and have been thinking about switching to the playtex drop ins to help reduce gas ... do you like them?

    He did well with the playtex one, but I'm not willing to go out and buy new bottles, when I can just switch nipples. Thanks.

    I meant try switching nipples.. if it seems too fast then switch back to the slower nipple! Sorry!

     My DD doesnt do good on the drop-ins.. they give her bad gas! She is doing really well on the Dr. Browns tho!

    We just switched ours to medium flow at 4 weeks today.
