Arms Reach Co Sleeper Question

We set ours up and i am not sure it is right.  The inside lip that attached to your bed is about 1-2 inches taller than the top of my bed.  Is this wrong?  It feels a little off when i am pretending to reach for a baby, but i am not sure it is a big enough deal.  ??

    Yeah, that should not be taller than your bed. Do you have an unusually low bed? (I don't know that it's a safety issue--we didn't have that problem so I didn't look it up--but it might just be a comfort/convenience issue.)

    Actually, we have the bed on the floor right now, and have a 3 inch memory foam topper on top of it.  When it was on the bedframe it was just too tall.  I was worried too after surgery trying to get into this tall bed.  Maybe we will just put a few pieces of wood under to make sure the bed is taller than that lip thing on the cosleeper.
