Convertible Carseat Fabric

Living in the south, one of my concerns is DS getting too hot in the carseat. It happens now, in the Chicco Keyfit, if he has a coat or sweater on, even thought the fabric on the Keyfit is not really one I would consider a "warm" fabric.

Most of the convertible carseats seem to have a warm velour type of fabric and most are in dark colors. If you're already using a convertible, what has your experience been with the fabric? I know it's not really warm yet, but do you foresee your seat being really warm this summer?

    I got one in a light grey color combo for that exact reason.

    Mine's black and white (cow print) and my DS sweats like crazy.  This is not new for him though--he's been a sweater since the beginning.  I just put him in a lighter jacket or sweatshirt and keep a blanket on him on the way in/out of the car when necessary.
