At my OB appointment today, we discussed delivery options. Baby A is pretty much lodged head-down in my pelvis, but Baby B is completely breech. I know that there is a very good chance Baby B will flip after delivery of Baby A, but my doc said that three docs in the practice (including him) will do breech deliveries (not turning the baby) if the positioning is right. I didn't even know this was an option! Now i need to do more research....

Re: XP: Anyone go through a breech delivery with Baby B?
That's wonderful that they are considering doing the breech! So few even consider it anymore.
Sorry I have no advice. Mine were head down.
I did! Baby B was the smaller of the two so my doctor was comfortable with it. As soon as baby A was born, a second doctor was pushing down on my uterus from the outside and a nurse had an ultrasound going to make sure baby B was doing well. Literally 30 seconds later, my doctor grabbed baby B's legs and pulled her out. I didn't even push.
It was a great experience for me and I'm so glad I was able to deliver them vaginally.
My MFM will do it if Baby B is smaller. He told me that it is a lot less risk to the baby than a breech delivery of a singleton because the "tunnel" is open and twins are usually smaller than a singleton so there is less risk of the baby getting stuck.
my ob wouldn't do it because baby was almost 2lbs bigger. it all depends on the way the baby is on delivery day. I had u/s every week sometimes 2x and one day they would be breech and the next day head down. When my waterbroke they were both head down but Baby B (jordana) was so high up and large they didn't want to do it. I don't regret having a c/s though because it isn't that bad. My main goal was to do what was best for the twins.
my friend had her twins a month later and B was breech. OB she used had to reach up and pull the baby out.
Good Luck
I did and it was a really great experience. Baby A and Baby B were the same size, and the OB that was on call that night was a MFM who was very skilled/experienced in breech extractions. After Baby A was delivered we waited just a few minutes, the OB that delivered grabbed Baby B by her feet, I gave a tiny push and she was out. It was a breeze. No stitches and a much easier recovery than my first pregnancy/delivery experience.
Good luck!
I'm in the same boat as you are.
I see you are in RI, which OB practice do you go to that they will do it? I'm at OBGYN in Providence.
I did! I actually ended up switching OBs at 31w to one who was skilled in and comfortable with breech extractions; my Baby B kept flipping back and forth between vertex and breech right up until the end! (Literally.
Both babies were head-down when I went in for my induction but after I pushed A out, the OB did a u/s and B had flipped back to breech again! So he came out by breech extraction.)
Here are some articles from excellent sources that might help you as you research:

Are you at Broadway? That's where I am -- apparently Ramos, Penza, and Brosco are all experienced in breech extractions.
Thank you for the resources! And thanks for all of the responses!

No, I'm at the one in Providence right near the state offices. They are much more keen on just scheduling a c-section.
