I am going out on disability!
My OB gave me a script for Zofran 8mg. If that does not work or I am still very sick, he is going to put me out on disability.
I called to inquire about the disability last week just in case and they said I could use it no problem. They said you have a lifetime max. of 52 weeks.
Let's hope I don't need it because I really want to work...

8mg? How often do they have you taking it? My OB prescribed me the 4mg tabs every 4 hours, and while they worked at first, they just stopped working one day. I thought I was on highest dose I could take......
A part of me has to admit I'm glad I'm not the only one on Zofran. I got put on Zofran after a trip to the ER, and have been hearing non-stop "how can you be that sick."
Anyways, as someone said above check with the H.R. department. You may be put on long-term disability and that typically will last more than FMLA's 12 weeks. Depending on what you do you may be able to talk you're employer in to letting you work from home. That's been a life-saver for me on my really bad days where I can't get out of bed. I just prop up the lap-top and can get a good amount of work done even being sick. If they don't want to find a temp and your doctor allows you to work this might be an option to look into and then you don't have to use up your life-time 52 weeks of disability. Sadly not all employers are okay with that option.
Good Luck! I hope you are feeling better soon.
Thank you!
I can't work at home unfortunately. I work at a dental office so...
It is different than the FMLA.
We will just wait and see what happens. Even if I am out of work with out pay, it may just need to be done!

Oh WOW I missed your BFP post! Congrats!!
I am on Zofran and have been since week 6. My doctor recommended I stay on it until week 12 because no sense in suffering. To give you an idea, I was on 3 pills (8 mg) a day for 2 weeks, then weaned myself down to 2 and now I am on 1 a day. I don't know if it is the meds or the pregnancy but I am very constipated. Hasn't eased up since decreasing the meds so I am thinking it is just being pregnant. I haven't had any headaches or other ill effects from it. The nausea does get better, hang in there!!
