I don't remember EVER kissing my parents...lips or not. We're not a very touchy-feely family. But I want to be more affectionate with my own kids...therefore I kiss DS on the lips, head, cheek, hands, feet, etc. We cuddle LOTS too! I love that time and hope he feels comfortable hugging/kissing me when he's older.
My dad will sometimes kiss my cheek. My mom and I never kiss, ever. DH kisses his mom on the lips but never kisses his dad. Personally because I was raised in a house without a lot of kissing I find it strange that he kisses his mom on the lips, but hey, to each their own.
Our family does too. DH's family does the whole cheek thing, sometimes cheek to cheek with no kiss, sometimes both cheeks... I can never keep straight who does what!
I won't flame you. I never did the kiss on the mouth with my parents but I do it with DD sometimes. It's not something that I plan to continue past the toddler stage but I don't judge people who do it as adults.
My parents still kiss ME on the lips and it makes me SUPER uncomfortable. But I like trying to kiss DS's little open mouth and not get slobbered on so maybe they just have fond memories they can't let go of. I try not to let it bother me.

This goes for me, too. DH's fam kisses a lot on the cheeks but not on the lips. Well, I have kissed my dad on the lips before but it's usually the cheeks, if at all.
My best friend, my husband, my everything Matthew Kevin 7/31/83-7/20/11
Met 1/8/00

Married 9/29/07
Two beautiful legacies: Noah Matthew (2 yrs) and Chloe Marcella (8 mos) Day Three
With my parents I usually go in for a last minute head turn and kiss on the cheek or near the mouth but not on the lips, we used to kiss on the lips when I was a kid, but it feels strange now. I hate it when my husband gives me a big wet kiss, I have this automatic desire to wipe my lips for some reason, however I don't mind making out with him...strange I know.
I never kiss my IL's....ever. I do smother my daughter with kisses, all over her face.
