Hi- I got it 5 days AFTER delivery... Was admitted back into the hospital and put on magnisium drip for the night.. anyone with similar experience?? Im now on blood pressure medicine.. Wondering when its gonna go away.
Same here--was admitted to the hospital 6 days PP and stayed for almost 48 hours. I was on BP meds for about 6 months and then came off them. BP is now at the upper range of normal and I am sure I will be on chronic meds eventually. But, I have a very strong family history of high BP, so that might have something to do with it.
Mine started 3 days PP. Was on Mag sulfate drip for 24 hours. Was on meds for 6 months and now off of them. BP has returned to normal in the teens and 120's. I know how scary it can be but it will get better. Things that helped me was plenty of rest, drinking plenty of water and watching my sodium intake. I took myself to a cardiologist when all of this was going on and he got a handle of my medication. He recommeneded that it was very important to really watch my sodium intake. I also have a family history of High BP, I am not sure if anything has to do with that. I am going to see an MFM at the end of the month to question why all this happened and get some answers for expanding our family in the future. If you have any questions, please feel free to ask because I know what its like to go through it and I know it helps and puts you at ease when you know others have gone through it as well.
I went back in the hospital for PP pre-e, 6 days after DD was born. 7 months later and I'm still on BP medication. I go to the doctors in a few weeks and I'm wondering what the next step will be. Right now, my BP is good 113/60.
The thought of being on BP medication for life makes me angry/sad/scared, but I'm trying to come to terms with it.
Good luck. Everything will be okay. Just take good care of yourself and your LO's.
