? about nighttime CDing ...

DD can't stand being wet during the day.

We put her in a GM or a B4 at night and leave her in it until morning.  However, she wakes up several times during the night ... and I nurse her back to sleep.  I'm not sure if the waking is due to being wet or just waking and wanting to eat ...

My initial thought was to (wait for it) put her in a sposie at night and see if her sleeping improves.

Thoughts?  or should I just tough it out?  I don't like the idea of using sposies but sleep is becoming a luxury for DH and myself ...

  • DS doesn't like being wet either.  We use sposies at night and he still wakes 2-3 times.  He eats 2x in the middle of the night and really eats.  You can tell he isn't comforting himself but truly hungry.  I do not think the sposie will really make a difference unless your DC is using the breast only for comfort, falling asleep right away, and not eating.

  • My experience is diff than pp. DS hates being wet so after trying a million cd options we finally went the disposable route and now instead of waking up multiple times and being nursed or comforted back to sleep, he wakes up once max. He generally puts himself back to sleep really quickly...most times I don't hear him.

I say try it and see how lo responds.

  • I'd try a fleece liner in the diaper first to see how that works for the wetness. We used them every night for a loooong time and then discovered that they weren't necessary for us.

  • What about a fleece liner? They really work well for us, he hates to feel wet but with a fleece liner he doesn't even notice if his diaper is soaked through.
  • Personally I would give it a try.  We're currently in sposies at night and, while I hate it, DS does sleep better.  We used to use pockets so the fleece liner didn't help since the pocket inner itself was fleece.  I'm not sure what the difference is, but sleep is worth it to me.  :-(
