NIFR: I need help picking shoes for this dress, anyone want to help?

So here's the problem(s).  I broke my ankle 2 yrs ago and it didn't heal quite right so my orthopedic surgeon has pretty much banned me from all heels.  He said I could wear a very low chunky heel for an 1hr if I must that any longer will probably have me back in for cortisone shots.  The second problem is I wear a wide shoe and that is really making things extra difficult.

So this is the dress I am wearing.

It's my brother's wedding so I will have to be in pics otherwise I would just wear ballet flats.  I am contemplating some Kenneth Cole flat sandals that have beading on the straps, but I feel like the dress would be better with a heel, also I am short so the heel always helps.

Anyone want to help a girl out?

TIA!

  • Cute dress! How about a black peep-toe kitten heel?? I bought some a while back and love them. Kitten heels give you just a teeny bit more height than a ballet flat.

  • How about a strappy wedge heel?  They would give you the look of a heel but with more support/stability and might be easier on your ankles.

I agree with this. Was going to suggest it myself.
  • Thanks ladies!  I am on the hunt for either a wedge or kitten heel.  Wish me luck :-)

I do find that wedge heels are very comfortable.. esp if there isn't a big incline.   Maybe you could also take a pair of flats for after pictures if you are hurting.

  • I think if you need a flat, you should go with an ornate jeweled sandal, either flat or with a slight heel or wedge.  I think it will look a little more formal that a ballet slipper.
