I have noticed that the longer LO sleeps at night, the quicker he is ready for a nap in the morning. For example...normally he sleeps around 10-12 hours. He usually goes a couple hours until he is ready for a nap, up to 3 hours sometimes. Last night he slept super-long and slept 14 hours! Not the 1st time but it happens once in a while. He was ready for a nap less than an hour later! I wonder why??? Just seems strange.
Re: sleeping/napping
Yup this is normal! I read about this (in the Ferber book I believe), where your sleep cycles cause babies to be tired quicker in the morning, even though they just slept all night; and also they are able to stay awake longer in the evenings than any other time of the day.
My DD needs a nap after 90 minutes in the AM, but can go nearly 2 full hours for the rest of her awake times in the day.
