Georgia Babies

Rough Night but everyone is okay.

Apparently my mom is taking some new medication and had a "reaction" to it last night.  By reaction I mean she took it on an empty stomach and had 2 glasses of wine.  So of course it made her sick as a dog.  At the time though we had no idea what was wrong with her.  I guess my dad didn't know she had started taking anything new?  Anyway Emma happened to be over at my parents house spending the night and my dad was worried he was going to have to take my mom to the E.R. so he calls me frantic at midnight to come over because something was wrong with my mom.  Scared me to death.  She is so bad about not following the prescribed directions on some of the medications she has to take.  She has a history of seizures due to a sleep disorder and she acts like she's taking a dang Flintstone Vitamin instead of something that is really important.

Anyway, sorry for the dramatic post but thank you so much for the kind words.

  • Good golly! I'm glad all is well, but sheesh!

After I got over my panic, I'd have probably let my mom have it. Especially since Emma was there.

Hence my request for prayers at 1:50 a.m.  I was ready to strangle BOTH of my parents.  It's one thing to be ignorant of your health.  It's one thing to be irresponsible with your health.  It's another thing to be ignorant and irresponsible when you have my daughter spending the night at your house.  The best part was that once we figured out she hadn't had another seizure and what the problem was I guess she was embarrassed but she got pissed off at my dad for calling me over to the house in the middle of the night and HE AGREED WITH HER and said "your mom is right, I shouldn't have called you."  I nearly blew a gasket.  I am so dreading the inevitable follow up with them today.

  • i just breathed a huge sigh of relief.

I'm so glad that everything is OK.

And i love how invested we are in each other, even if i've never met you IRL.

  • glad all is well.

  • Glad to hear she is OK.

My Mom has her "moments" sometimes ever since Menopause started.  Nothing quite like this, but still, I worry about her and Dad, too, at their age, anything can happen.

Oh, and MIL is on some pretty strong pain pills time to time.  She gets a little wonky on those and is not herself.  But she hates them so luckily she doesn't take them often.

  • Wow..that sounds like a doozie of a situation. I am glad everyone is OK!
