My dr's office sent me a letter basically outlining what to expect at my first appointment and discussing the cost of all of my prenatal appointments and delivery (Holy!!! Thank goodness for insurance, I'll only have to pay my $20 co-pays for office visits, nothing at all for delivery!)
But what bugged me, is that they have my due date as 11/28. Now I know this isn't a huge deal and I know they calculated it based on my LMP, which is common. But when I called to make the appt, I told them that my LMP was 2/20, but that I ovulated on 3/12, making my due date 12/3. It kinda makes me
Re: letter from the dr's office
Oh I'm not worried about when I'm due. I was more concerned with the fact that I told them when I ovulated but, rather than using that to calculate it, they use my LMP. If it had been my last cycle, my LMP was on 12/23, but I had a 60 day cycle. I guess since learning more about my body, I assumed the dr's office would use the information I have. Oh well.
I never said it was a big deal.
The only time I've ever seen an OB base an EDD on "ovulation" date is when someone had IUI or IVF done, maybe Clomid monitoring, and it was known exactly - to the second. I O'd a week late so my OB figured out my EDD based on the 6 week US.
You got a form letter, where they stick your LMP into a computer and it spits out a letter for your first appt. In the grand scale of reasons to get upset at your OB's office, this is not one. What happened with my first pregnancy was a huge reason to get upset, this, not so much.
Again, not saying I'm upset. Just found it interesting that they still use the LMP when you tell them that you chart your BBT and know when you O, especially since my dr suggested doing that to determine my O date. But really, not upset about it
What happened with your first pregnancy?
This. Mine's been changed 4 times, I gave up.
