So I played Bunco last night (won 12 bucks) and as always came home checked kids....I see orange spots all on Maggie's sheets and the triamic next to her bed with cap lightly on (bottle sticky)...I ask Noah did you give Mags medicine...he is groggy as I woke him to ask he is like uh no why...HELLO she has medicine all in her bed. WTH always on his watch this crap happens...I am not mad at him, but really the bloody nose he missed was on his watch.
Called Choa and poison control. First off lectured by nurse line not to give three year olds triaminic---umm I didn't give it to her! Well I have the Dr told me to? Secondly good piece of info to know PC said she would have to have 128 mg for an overdose (that is alot).
I had to wake her to check her as she had a low temp 95.7 (ear therm) (learned that normal is 97.0-100.3) we took it again rectally and it was right at 97.0 so she was fine. But now she was awake...no sleep for me.
If you read all that thanks felt good to get it out!
Re: Maggie helped herself to the triaminic
OMG, this makes perfect sense but I never would have thought of it. I've actually been super annoyed all this time that they DON'T sell bigger bottles but now I see why!
So glad that Mags is ok, but dang, that is so scary! I was actually just thinking that I need to overhaul our medicines and come up with a new storage system. Maybe I'll work on that this weekend...
