How much bleeding after an internal

in 3rd Trimester

is considered normal?

I've had random bouts of spotting b/c of an irritable cervix, but I've got a light flow going on now and I had an internal a little over an hour ago.  She said she thought she may have seen a little bloody show.  So, internal spotting or bloody show?

    I would say if the flow stays steady for another 45min to hr call your Dr and make sure all is alright!! Just to be safe!! GL

    I'm in the exact same boat. Doctor told me there was blood and I could be in early labor. I have been having bloody discharge since the internal and it is freaking me out.

    After my 1st internal, I had bleeding for 2 days. It was more than just spotting but not heavy by any means.

    After my internal yesterday, my dr said she thought she saw a little bloody show.  I asked her if she was referring to the mucos plug, and she said there are all these misconeptions about the plug and that she just meant that I would probably have some spotting (which I did).

    Call your dr if you are concerned.  I imagine they will tell you it's normal but it never hurts to ask if you are worried.

    I had my first internal on Wednesday and not a drop of spotting.

    The bleeding I experienced was definitely more than anything I would call "spotting". It lasted for two days and required a pad.
    DD1 4.14.10
    DD2 8.22.13
    MMC 1.4.17 at 16w
    Expecting #3, EDD 1.29.18

    I had my first internal yesterday and while it was QUITE uncomfortable, I haven't had any cramping or spotting.

    Ive had 2 internals done and both times, I've had bloody to pinkish discharge for 2-3 days after.

    I would say it depends on how rough the dr was.  One of my docs is more rough then the others and told me on Monday that I should expect bright red blood and to maybe fill a pad or two, but any more then that and in a short amount of time then to call.  I had another internal on Thursday and she didn't even mention spotting.  But, as always, if you are concerned you should call your OB.
