What do you consider crawling?

Carter has been army crawling all over the place for the last week - he is so quick now and can get pretty much anywhere he wants to go.  DH says he's crawling and I say he isn't yet because he's not doing the typical on hands and knees crawling.  Help solve this argument Smile  I guess I'm also trying to figure out what to put in his baby book relating to when he started crawling.

Re: What do you consider crawling?

  • I would consider it crawling. However in DS's baby book I wrote 2 things. I wrote army crawling at 9 1/2 months and hand/knee crawling at 10 months.

  • We didn't count it until he was up on all fours, belly off the ground.  We debated whether he was crawling for 2 weeks and then there was just kind of a Eureka moment when he figured it all out and was on the go.
  • I put army crawling in the baby book and then real crawling.  I think it isn't crawling until it is on all 4s.
  • my DD never really crawled, she only army crawled until she learned to walk.  i remember asking the doctor and the she told me that if DD was getting from one end of the room to the other it was considered crawling.
