Mason update

The good news is I loved the pedi ENT. He was a really nice guy and I appreciated his conservative approach. He is concerned enough about Mason's hearing loss being related to something more than just fluid to feel like we have to get the fluid out and do the sedated hearing test. M has actually only had 2 EIs so the doctor wants to try one more round of antibiotics. He will be on the meds for 10 days. Then we will give him a few weeks to see what his ears do and go back May 3rd. If his ears are clear at that point then we will go straight to the sedated hearing test. If the fluid is still there/there again then we will schedule the tube surgery and do the test while he is already under. I hate the waiting and not knowing, but I like that this buys us a little more time to get his lungs healthy before we put him under. He is on a daily inhaled steroid for a month for Reactive Airway Disease right now. One of the things I was nervous about with the surgery was his lungs being such a mess, so by the time we get to the test and/or surgery he will be done with the steroid and hopefully wheeze free!
